Review

“As I was browsing the pages of Bridget's new book, I found myself ooohing, ahhhing, and pretty much gasping with delight at every single page. She has so perfectly captured the fun and deliciousness of decorated cookies, and has laid out the instructions and tips so clearly, you'll be inspired to start baking immediately. I am madly in love with the creations in this book, and all the ideas that could spring from them. I can now think of nothing but planning a cookie decorating party!” —Ree Drummond, #1 New York Times Bestselling author of The Pioneer Woman Cooks

“Bridget is as sweet as her sugar cookies. In her new book, she shows you how to throw the cutest cookie decorating parties with fun cookie collections perfect for your next sweet celebration.” —-Angie Dudley (Bakerella), author of Cake Pops

Bridget Edwards did it again with her second book. Received my book which is filled with the basics and information on how to actually host a cookie decorating party. Step by step instructions (thank you Bridget) and loaded with ideas and great photos!

Coming from someone who has long been a follower of Bridget's blog, http://bakeat350.blogspot.com/ , I was over-the-moon when Bridget published her first book Decorating Cookies!
As much as I've enjoyed learning how to decorate cookies with Bridget's first book, I like Decorating Cookies PARTY even better!
Greeting party guest with beautifully designed cookies, individually wrapped and sealed with a bow, is always the highlight of any party!
What I love the most about Bridget's blog and books is that she takes her readers back to the very basics.
And I mean the BASICS.
Decorating Cookies PARTY explains exactly what you need to make these beautiful cookies happen at your next party.
From cookie cutters, to icing tips, rolling pins, cookie sheets, squeeze bottles and parchment paper.
Step-by-step Bridget takes her readers through the process!
From the dough to the icing to the sprinkles to the party!
Also featured in the book are five "go-to" cookie dough recipes including Bridget's famous Vanilla-Almond Cut-Out Sugar Cookie recipe. I've tried lots of roll-out sugar cookie recipes over the years and Bridget's is my all time favorite.
This recipe is no-fail. Comes together beautifully every, single time and easy to roll out and work with.
I was especially happy to see that there's even a Gluten-Free Chocolate dough recipe included in Decorating Cookies Party.
If you love happy cookies sealed with a bow!
If you love parties!
If you enjoy gifting friends with cookies!
If you've always thought decorating cookies was for the "cookie decorating experts" and that you could never learn to decorate cookies like the professionals do.
If you've always wanted to host a decorating cookies party of your own!
Well then this book is for YOU!
You're going to LOVE it!

Since I am a huge fan of Bridget Edwards’ fantastic website, Bake at 350, as well as her first book, Decorating Cookies, I was very excited to see her new book. Given that my job and business all revolve around parties, I couldn't wait to see her ideas for holding a cookie decorating party. I've been a cookie maker since I was very young, so I’m happy to learn some new techniques for upgrading my cookies.

The book starts off with cookie decorating tips and I learned a lot of new things, including how to make double decker cookies and cookie pops on sticks. I also am working on mastering the pipe and flood royal icing technique that all of the cookies in the book use. I feel like if I can master that, it will really help my cookies look more professional. In terms of cookie recipes, there is a gluten free chocolate recipe, as well as vanilla almond, pink lemonade and brown sugar and spice flavors, all of which sound amazing to me!

The ideas would work well for cookie exchanges, cookie decorating parties (for kids or adults) or as hostess gifts or party favors at themed celebrations. My favorite sets of cookies were the birthday party (love the pedestal cake!), the lovely princess party and the bridal shower (stunning double decker cookies!). I’m starting practicing with some of the simpler cookies, but I’m excited to work my way up to the fancier ones and try out the flood on flood technique. I’m improving and trying to remember what the author says, “It doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful!”

I love this book! I am new to decorating cookies and am having a blast learning from Bridget. This makes two of her books I own. I particularly like the cookie recipes she gives. I have used other recipes; they always failed. I thought it was me until I tried her recipe for vanilla cookies. It turned me from flop to success. She gives clear directions on how to decorate the cookies, step by step, which is just what I need. I have no artistic talent, but my cookies look, and taste great! Thanks, Bridget! And thanks to Ree Drummond for introducing her first book to me on her website.

I am huge fan of the website Bake at 350 and was super excited to get this book and start making some holiday cookies. I hate to say but I have not found much useful information in it. The Vanilla-Almond Cut out Sugar cookie dough was so crumbly that I could not even get it to roll out so I could cut it into shapes. I finally rolled it into a log, put it in the freezer and cut it into circles to bake the next day. The pictures are lovely to look at but I think this is for a more for people who have experience already. Not a beginners book as others have said.

Need this book. It's almost holiday cookie baking time. LLove decorated sugar cookies AND a number of Italian cookies.
It is a family tradition to bake on the day after Thanksgiving. And that beautiful red mixer would sure help. Just moved into a new smaller place and it would look beautiful.
