Merely an irritating coffee table book, February 14, 2008
This review is from: Decorating with Seashells (Hardcover)
I actually became... repulsed by the tacky decorations in this coffee table pictorial.
Don't get me wrong. I like shellcraft... but this book goes too far, while being so limited in scope... no room for any taste is left on these shell encrusted nightmares.
If you dream of making teddy bears, and painting their odd quirky expressions before you sell them, so you can remember them, and love the idea of covering everything that won't move in pastel, overblown, garish, tourist trap nightmare shell coverings, in your bed and breakfast in Utah... then you have a lot in common with the author, and this book is for you.
If you don't think shell encrusted birdhouses and lamps are the height of fashion, and would rather see tastefully done shell craft, look elsewhere.
Photography, writing, and content are really second rate as well... its more a book about how the author and her friends are really spectacular... with no history, substance, or research put into it.

great ideas!, October 4, 2011
This review is from: Decorating with Seashells (Hardcover)
I love this book. Every thing looks fairly easy to make and I am always looking for ideas to do with shells. I love going to the beach and beachcomb. I am so glad to find something helpful. Hoping someone will print some more books to do shell crafts.
