Probably the most *luxe* looking mailbox -for the price- available. Well made. Sturdy. Great color (an aged bronze). Attractive design. Easy installation. "Rubber"ish padding underneath the forward edge of the lid so it doesn't "clank" when closed. My only complaint is that I could not buy matching newspaper hooks. However, the hooks might not be neccessary: thus far all catalogues, regular mail & Netflix DVDs have fit within with room to spare!

I did not attach the "privacy plate" so I cannot comment on its effectiveness (attaches with little "stick 'em" squares - I wonder about that. I'd probably whip out my glue gun).

Lastly, my mailman is even happier than I am!

Solid heavy construction, nice patina... what can I say? Very cool and well-built Mission style brass mailbox. I attached the privacy plate with the supplied doublestick tape and it seems to be holding fine after a rainy week... we'll see what it's like at the end of the winter.

Also as a side note, the stock photo at the top makes it look a little coppery colored, but it's definitely brass.

Have been looking for a nice craftsman mailbox for a while. Hard to tell online how nice this one is. Upon it's arrival my husband and I were very pleased. It looks like an expensive box. Great privacy window piece can be added and the closing mecahnism is quiet so when the box shuts it doesn't make any loud sounds. Easy installation.
