The Home Depot has done it again-- provided homeowners with a practical guide for inexpensive and creative solutions for our painting needs! Reminding us that 80% of project time is in the preparation, the book is chock full of tips such as safety, tool selection and organization, and the basics of painting a surface.

The book is comprised of six main sections, plus safety and paint basics, which more than covers the questions you might have as a beginning or experienced painter. Choosing colors, tools and materials, preparing to paint, room painting basics, decorative painting techniques, and cleaning up are discussed at length, making this a comprehensive resource for your painting success.

This is indeed a wonderful book. Several sections are not about decorative painting specifically, but about painting in general. These sections are clearly laid out with pictures and lists of equipment needed. They were absolutely perfect for my fiancee and myself - we just bought our first home and have a lot of work to do! This book helped us learn how to sand walls, prime, remove wallpaper, and finally, paint. There's plenty in here for decorative painting too, but if you're just starting out and need a great reference, buy this book!

Home Depot's Decorative Painting 1-2-3 (Hardcover) is a great guide for people that want to go the distance and do that little something extra that sets their home apart. It more then covers the basics, but it also offers a more detailed view of "How did they do that?" Loaded with photographs it takes you step by step into the realm of interior design. It is a worthwhile investment that not only refreshes one's memory on the basics, but also opens the door for something fresh with new possibilities.

I did not think I was getting the red and blue covered book of this version of Decor...etc. 1-2-3-... I bought the gold and got the other one....which I wanted anyway....SSOO...I was happy anyway.Although I did by two one from another vender who had also listed the red & blue covered book shown on his site...which I wanted...I am happy and sold one to a friend happy ending.All in all
I got what I wanted.I love this book...its the best book for many faux job choice's and styles...I bought 10 books in all, now I can not make up my mind which Faux to go with.This is the best step by step book to follow..and at a great price.YOU will be happy with this book!
