So far this device seems to operate without issue. We currently have our land-line still attached but after some testing and no issues I will be dumping my land line and will be using my cellphone(s) as my home phone. I have my current home phones Vtech 6053 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phones with Digital Answering System and 1 Base/2 Chargers/3 Cordless Handsets connected to this device.

My goal with this purchase was to convince the wife that we should dump our land-line and go with our cellphones only. Her big complaint was that she did not want to use the cellphone to make the calls because it is not as comfortable as the bigger home phones. This device fixes that problem and more. You can connect it to your existing phone system and make and receive calls throughout the home. Caller id information also gets pushed from your cell phone to your home phones so you can see who is calling.

This is a very ingenious device. Hopefully it will continue to work well.

2.0 out of 5 stars DTMF or tones do not work., December 19, 2008

After reading reviews here and other places, I chose to purchase this product to replace my office phone land line. It arrived, plugged it in and paired it with my IPhone on line one and a Audiovox SMT5600 Windows mobile on line 2. The pairing process was very easy. I was able to dial out and receive calls on both cell phones. On the Iphone, I had to turn up the BT volume all the way up. Up to this point everything looked great. I used an AAstra office phone and a Panasonic DECT6.0 wireless.

Now for the bad:
I need to be able to access voice mail, calling card, and Conference call system. This requires sending a series of DTMF tones with the numeric key pad. I tried every combination of all of the phones I have. No combination would send the keypad tone to the system I was calling. Feeling this should be something that would be a basic capability.

I called the tech support listed in the manual to make sure I was not doing something wrong or a setting that need to be configured. I was impressed, some one answered the phone right away and we could communicate in English very well. After that it went all downhill. I explained the issue I was having. He put me on hold for about 20 minutes and came back and told me that it was a problem with my voice mail system. I explained again there were several systems that I use and none of them worked with the Cell Fusion. I could hang up disconnect the Cell Fusion and dial with my cell phone and it works. To this his response was "unplug the power, the phone line and remove the battery" (there is no battery in this device) let it set for 15 minutes and then replace the battery, phone line and power. If the problem still exists it needs to be returned as damaged.

If you just make and receive calls - Great Solution.
If you need to send DTMF tones, I would look elsewhere.

If you have been able to make this device work with DTMF tones to voice mail and calling card systems, Please respond. I may have received one that was not working correctly

5.0 out of 5 stars Good solution for its price, July 9, 2008
This review is from: Dect 6.0 Cell Fusion Adjunct Box Gateway (Wireless Phone Accessory)
I got this for $50 plus tax at Target on sale. It does the job as advertised. Hooked up to my cellphone via bluetooth and has been stable for two weeks. This allows me to set aside my phone but still can receive calls anywhere in my house, very convenient. One glitch I found is that the touch tone sent using my home phones does not seen to be delivered correctly over to the recipient end, thus company voice mail boxes and other automatic phone services won't work. However, I believe that's the limitation of the CDMA system used by the cellphone rather than the bluetooth gateway. This provides the most important feature I need (to be able to linkup to home phones) at a faction of the price of the other similar devices. Highly recommended.

I agree with B. Boyd, the device works very well. I have been using the Dock-n-Talk from Phone Labs (PhoneLabs PHO-DNTA100 Dock-N-Talk or http://www.phonelabs.com/prd05.asp) for about 3 years, and paid around $250 with the separate Bluetooth module (version 1.0!). It worked fine with my old Blackberry, but really struggles with my Windows Mobile 6 phone, probably because of the poor Bluetooth driver in Windows Mobile.

So for $50, I figured I would try this device, not expecting it to perform as well. Instead, it works better! The Cell Fusion has Bluetooth 2.0, which give me 300' instead of 30' from the base, and it supports two Bluetooth connections simultaneously.

The only downside, compared to the Dock-n-Talk, is that I use this device with a 2-line cordless phone system, and with my old device, I could simply dial out on the 2nd line. On the Cell Fusion, you must prefix your calls with #1# or #2# to connect to the corresponding paired phone. But all-in-all, I am very pleased. The sound quality is better, too.

Mr. Boyd's problem sending tones is most likely the cordless handset, not the cell phone. Many handsets send short tones that aren't sufficient when communicating with a PBX. It may be an alterable setting on the phone system.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Gateway Works!, October 19, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

In the world of Bluetooth gateways, when a product actually does what is says it is supposed to do I am very pleased. Even more when it is a GE product that actually works and is lower in price than the competition.

This gateway does work. Sound quality is good. No dropped calls. Easy to engage or disengage. These are my required criteria.

I do not understand the negative reviews of this product. This gateway lets you use any phone you chose instead of forcing you to use a proprietary cheap handset.

The better the connected phone, the better the sound quality. If you hook the gateway up to a bargain basement phone, the sound quality will go down.

As per the manual, keep the cell phone at least 2 feet away from the Gateway or there will be a sound quality issue.

To disengage, simply push the blue light on the gateway. Some people want an automatic reengagement when returning. I simply push the button on the Gateway and reactivate Bluetooth on the cell. This will reengage the link. I takes 20 seconds. Is this a material issue? Not for me, because this gateway works and has worked for weeks for me with no issues at all. Issues for me are sound quality and dropped calls - check out the reviews on competitive products - they appear to have issues.

Add in a price lower than the competition and this gateway is a sure winner.

1.0 out of 5 stars Compatibility problems - Bad tech support, January 22, 2009

Set up was easy and it paired with the cell phone right away. The product will not pass incoming calls to the house phone, but outgoing calls work fine. The same issue occurred on 3 different cells and house phones in various combinations. Tech support has a horrible digital connection, making them nearly unintelligible. Even after confirming the model number they were giving me instructions for components that did not exist, such as a handset. I called them on 3 separate occasions, using their tracking number, and they asked the same stupid questions repeatedly and never had any useful suggestions. They clearly did not understand the product. After much frustration I requested a supervisor - first it was denied, then I was promised a call-back that never happened. As of today the Thomson site still does not even have a manual posted. This product is not ready and tech support is useless.

I've come to expect trouble with anything Bluetooth - but this was a very pleasant surprise. Easy to set up and quick mating to our two family cellphones meant I was up and running making FREE and easy long distance calls with both our cellphone, using my new AT&T Dect 6.0 cordless. It took about five minutes and couldn't have been easier.

I had wondered how on earth they could make the claim that it will work with ANY corded or cordless phone - well it was easy once I saw the genius of the design - you plug the cordless base into the Fusion Gateway, and the Fusion Gateway into your phone jack. A processor on board the Fusion Gateway takes care of everything.

Are you wondering: Once installed, how do you make OUTBOUND calls from your cordless, using your cellphone's minutes? Easy - pick up the cordless and you can use your home line as usual, or press #1# (for cell #1), and you'll get a dial tone, then input the phone #, then hit # again and the processor in the Fusion Gateway connects the call using your cell phone instead of your land line.

When you're home and your cell phone rings - your cordless will also ring - an abbreviated version of your normal ring - letting you know it is your cell phone - and the Fusion Gateway will even transmit the caller ID through your cell phone to the cordless!

If you hve phone numbers stored in your cordless phone's memory or speed dial - they thought of that too. You press #1# and hear a dial tone, press the speed dial number - and then press # - and your cell phone dials out.

Very impressive device!

I purchased this product for under 40.00 at Target yesterday. The product does what is says it will do. I disconnected my land line from the main jack and the phone(s) continued to ring. This device has convinced me to get rid of my land line.

I was suspicious when I bought this but after spending just a few minutes setting it up, it worked fine and sound quality was quite good. We don't use a land line and this enables our cordless home phone using the cell phone connection.

Would recommend this to anyone who is considering ditching the land line without losing incoming calls at home.

I could ramble on for minutes about the sound quality on this thing. How it randomly and silently drops the connection with the cellphone. How it is about 30 seconds behind the curve when calls do come in. But in the end it all leads to the same thing. This product should not be on the market. I notice this product is listed twice on Amazon I suspect that was to get around all the bad reviews garnered by the first listing.
