Product Description

Cinelli Cork tape was the standard for ages until Deda came along and built a better mousetrap. We love what Deda does with their Foam handlebar tape because it has just a kiss more cush than cork, without being as cloying chunky as Fizik bar gel. For almost all rides and almost all circumstances, Deda Foam's thickness is perfect. You'll be glad you have it on long rides and on lousy roads. Features a micro-cellular structure on a rubber surface for a nicely tacky grip. Comes with an adhesive backing. Available in numerous colors. The actual weight of the Deda Elementi Padded Foam Handlebar Tape is 53g.

This tape may cost more than some other products but I definitely notice the difference! For years I have had difficulties with pressure on my hands, but this tape really provides great cushioning! Aside from comfort, the rainbow of color options ensures it will look good with any bike. The Olympic Gold is shiny and beautiful!

In my opinion this is the best tape out there. Where it stands apart from other foam tapes is the density--it's on the thick side, but unlike other thick tapes it's not "squishy" or "spongy." This makes it extremely comfortable on the hands while still providing great grip and control. The firmness of the tape definitely helps in tight cornering when you're putting a lot of pressure on the bars or gripping tightly to maintain control (e.g., I use it on my cyclocross bike where grip is important). It doesn't "give" or squirm under your grip, which makes you feel more in control. The density also makes it wear very well. It keeps it's ability to absorb shock and provide grip for a very long time. Wraps easy, stretches very well--I've wrapped at least 20 bars with this stuff and I've yet to tear it from stretching it too tight. My only complaint is the adhesive backing--it's completely unnecessary and makes uninstalling and re-using the tape more difficult than it would be otherwise. You can still re-use the tape after un-wrapping your bars, you just have to unwrap very carefully--the adhesive backing tends to tear the tape if you unwrap too quickly. Small niggle for otherwise great bar tape. And, it's not that much pricier than the generic "cork" tape. Highly recommended.

This was my first time installing bar tape so I knew that it wouldn't go perfectly smoothly. I followed a video on YouTube on how to do it and then practiced several times without removing the paper from the adhesive tape on the back. When it came time to use live ammo, I managed to get both sides taped without incident. But there was very little room for error. I was careful to overlap roughly 1/3 of the tape as I wrapped and still came up slightly short on both bars.

I really wish they'd make the tape a little longer so there is a bit of breathing room. This was most likely exacerbated by my lack of experience, but it still feels like they could've added a few more inches on there.

I picked a pack of this up at my LBS yesterday and put it on my Kona Jake before my morning ride today. Despite having never wrapped bars before, I had no real trouble putting it on, even over my old tape. After a ~10 mile ride I'm happy to report that it's is both comfortable and stylish.

I had been considering splurging on Lizard Skins, but my LBS only carries this and I generally trust their judgement. Happy I did!

The only downsides to this tape are the adhesive strip on the underside (which was already coming apart when I peeled off the backing,) and the too small/inflexible branded finishing tape they supply. But the sticky isn't really useful anyways (except maybe helping keep the tape in place if you aren't pulling it tight enough), and you don't need their finishing tape if you have a roll of electrical tape or wrap from the stem.

I've tried them all and Deda logo is, by far, my favorite. I like thick but not squishy tape and this stuff fits the bill. You can wrap it tight for a thinner, finger-groovy-type profile or just snug for a slightly softer, bigger feel. Also, for a foam tape it wears like iron. I run white and it cleans up nice with a little simple green and some elbow grease. It always amazes me how well it cleans up considering it's white. I don't mind the adhesive because if you get it right the first time, it's a useful thing. If you don't, even if unwrapping damages the adhesive, there's always enough left to get a good grip. I've goofed and re-wrapped at least 4-5 times on the same tape before when I first started doing my own and it was no problem. However, if you pull the tape tight it WILL stretch and keep that memory. I hope this stuff is available forever!

I got this for my wife's machine - which has a lot of gold so the gold tape (A rare colour, apparently) and it looks spectatular. You could wrap it so the the imprented Deda was under the tape - but it looks very nice exposed, which is how I use it. If you wrap it exposed the 'Deda' is spaced over just a bit making an attrative pattern. If you want more cushion don't pull it so taught taught if more is desired put gel underneath. Cleans easily and after 4 months has held up well.

Deda Tape is a good cycling bar tape, it has a semi stick backing to help the bar wrapper keep the tape in place when wrapping it around cycling bars. It comes is a wide variety of colors which is the main reason why I ordered from amazon; I was searching for a darker blue color of a bar tape which Deda had. If I need a spare, I will definitely reorder from Deda.Deda Elementi Handlebar Tape Ocean Dark Blue

In short, not the best tape I've ever used. Bought it because it was cheap but it was extremely short. I did a figure 8 wrap around the levers and I only over lapped 1/3 of the tape. This was for my father's 70's Viscount and I know the handle bars couldn't be more than 39 or 40 wide and the drops aren't huge either. I still barely had enough to make it to the flats. Will be going back to sram supercork next time.
