A Disappointing Collection,

I love fantasy, which is why my daughter bought me the Dedalus Book of Austrian Fantasy several years back when she went to Austria. I liked it very much. This book is not nearly as good. While one could argue that the vein of fantasy and literature in general is much richer in Austria than the Netherlands, I believe the main problem here is one of poor editing, and to a lesser extent of translation. Besides being of poor quality, most of the stories don't even qualify as fantasy.
This editor also has another in the Dedalus series, which I plan to scrupulously avoid. |
