5.0 out of 5 stars LL COOL J SINGLE "DEEPEST BLUEST" IS AWESOME
I heard the first song from the soundtrack on MTV's "Making the Video". The song was "Deepest Bluest (Shark's Fin) by LL Cool J (the "J" stands for James). The song is awesome. LL Cool J is the best rapper of the millenium. Pick up the CD and listen to the first track.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent CD
But other than LL's tracks, there really isnt any other ones that stand out as "awesome" songs. It isnt a terrible album, however, and is worth a listen, especially if you like some of the other artists on the CD. I was a tad disappoined though.

5.0 out of 5 stars This soundtrack is a great mix of intense hip hop and R&B., August 1, 1999

This soundtrack has something for just about anyone who appreciates great hip hop and R&B. The styles range from L.L.'s intense 'Deepest Bluest' to Bass Odessey's rap/soul rhythm to Divine's sultry number. 'I Found Another Man' by Natice is my favorite cut on the album. The beat is really catchy and those sensual voices had me wishing I was the new man. I think that overall this soundtrack is definitely a must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sucky movie, great soundtrack, August 21, 1999

While I thought the movie sucked, the soundtrack makes up for it all. While listening to some of the songs, you can imagen what's going on during the movie, making the movie actually seem better!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Greatest Soundtrack EVER, July 29, 1999
This review is from: Deep Blue Sea: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
I never in my life have bought a soundtrack. But after seeing "Deep Blue Sea" on opening night, I decided to buy it. Everything about this movie was just PERFECT. The soundtrack is very creative, original and the tracks are blazing. If you have to see one movie in your entire life see "Deep Blue Sea" If you have to buy just one soundtrack in your life, buy this soundtrack. It is the greatest soundtrack anyone can have. GURANTEED.

4.0 out of 5 stars "LL Cool J with another slamming project", August 19, 2004

"Deep Blue Sea-Music From the Motion Picture" was a slamming soundtrack (in my opinion). For those of you that don't know, LL Cool J not only starred in the movie, but he was the movie's music consultant for the soundtrack. He also executive produced and supervised the Deep Blue Sea soundtrack under his company, Rock The Bells Records Entertainment, sister label of Island Def Jam Records.
All of the artists that were featured represented with their own blend of hip-hop/R&B, especially with a couple of previously released songs (Divine's "Good and Plenty", Bass Odyssey's "Remote Control Soul", and Deetah's updated remake of Madonna's "El Paraiso Rico"). Veteran artists like Hi-C and DJ Quik (with some background vocals from James DeBarge) strikes it rich with "Dollar Bill" and Cormega with Carl Thomas delivers the hit, "Mega's On His Own", sampled with the Temptations' "Papa Was A Rolling Stone". Trevor Rabin's "Deep Blue Sea Montage" helped to end the CD on a orchestral and hauntingly beautiful note. LL Cool J laid down some pretty hot tracks like "Deep Bluest (Shark's Fin)" and "Say What" to smooth it all out. New artists like Simone Starks (Burn Baby Burn), F.A.T.E. (Just Because), Chantel Jones (with her remake of Johnny Nash's hit, I Can See Clearly Now), Smokeman (Smokeman), Natice (I Found Another Man featuring raps by Simone Starks) and Amyth (LL Cool J's R&B group with Come Home With Me) helped to make this project very worthwhile to listen to.
In conclusion, the CD is pretty good. Trevor Rabin should have put LL's song on the score album, but he really made some good music. Rock The Bells and LL Cool J is on point. Rock on!
