Children should have no trouble recognizing their own families and bedtime rituals in this sprightly tale of a woodland bunny family getting ready to call it a day. Mama Bunny struggles to gather up her five little ones from a game of hide-and-seek, and Papa Bunny entices them to settle down with a story; there's washing up, extra hugs, tucking in and even late-night requests for a glass of water and a trip to the potty. Every page is filled with cuddly, wide-eyed creatures, but Szekeres never crosses the line from cute to cloying. She endows her characters with a genuine spunkiness and humor (even adults may chuckle at the sight of two bunnies perched on chamber pots while Papa awaits, yawning), and her chipper but tightly written text (just a few short lines to each page) keeps the action moving briskly along. By the time the book concludes with the littlest bunny sound asleep, dreaming "about stories and cocoa and whiskery kisses," both large and small members of the audience may well be unabashedly awash in warm, fuzzy feelings. This is a wonderful book to read to a child just before bedtime. It is calm, cute pictures, and not too long. It's cute in the way that it shows the mommy bunny and daddy bunny tucking in their little bunnies including the last cup of water and potty before bed. Very, very good book!

Well-loved favorite story. Our daughter loved this when she was younger, but lost it; this is our replacement copy. This particular copy was used and has page tears on the cover page, but hardly detract from the cute book. The story itself is delightful with beautifully illustrated pages, captivating text and meaningful family values. We love sharing this story together. Cindy Szekeres has another winner with this one.

I can't say enough good things about this book. My 2 yr old son absolutely loves it. He gets excited at bedtime because he knows it's the time when mommy and daddy read him this book. It's a darling story about 5 small bunnies and their mama and papa. My son loves the part when papa bunny gives baby bunny "whiskery kisses" while getting ready for bed. My husband attacks him with whiskery kisses as we read this part and our son squeals with delight.
