This was a great read! What made it really exciting is that it is based on a true story. Morei Robinson really takes you there. The main character Curtis opens up about his life and tells things that we only wish we could tell people. The sex scenes are hott and steamy!! The emotions and surprise elements are phenomenal. Morei really tells a story that we all can relate to whether male or female. He went in depth with Curtis's past from being molested, his attraction to men, his first sexual experience with a woman, the first sexual experience with a man in college, threesomes, orgies, his marriage, children, death of friends his faith and after all that how he learned to love himself and forced his family to love him for him. I cried because in some way this is my story!! I really love this book and I recommend it!!!!

Ok, this novel had me hooked from the getgo. Steamy, interesting, provocative, I was excited. At times, I could really relate to the main character. The feelings he felt, why he did some of the things he did, I felt his pain. Towards the end, when he graduated college, I felt the author repeated himself. The character was making the same mistakes over again. Overall, I liked it.

Not very compelling or emotional. This is more of a sermon about how to be a "good homosexual"....religious, honest, showing concern for others, and avoiding STDs and HIV. Also a tendency to blame homosexuality on the actions of others. This is not to dismiss that the struggles of the main character are real for some people. I find good books that teach life lessons without being preachy more interesting and involving.

Not your average sex crave novel. Instead it pushes boundaries in your mind, bringing home the issues with which we are all too familiar and forces you to think beyond the passion to the pain. Not my favorite read but it was certainly worth it

This book was an autogenerated suggestion of the type "people who bought x also bought y" through my Amazon account. With that in mind I will say it was not a book that I had any prior knowledge of and no expectations regarding its slant or content. After reading the book in its entirety I must say I had conflicting views about it. Although the author, speaking through his main character, tries very hard to seem non judgmental, certain biases come through that detracts from my reading experience. For example, the numerous negative depictions of people who's outward behavioural traits are more associated with the opposite gender. Sure, it is OK for a character to think this way and thus be depicted accordingly (I do understand realism and the authors right to write his work his way) but being that this turns into a message novel I was left wondering what exactly was the message of these numerous negative references (I don't believe neither men nor women have a monopoly on certain behavior, expressions, or speach and it disturbs me when an individual is judged based on the group). It is not that I feel no such critique should ever be made on this subject, surely many people feel uncomfortable with people who have these "non norm" traits, it seems so one sided though that I wondered whether it was the author's view rather than the characters (I think that such painting with a broad brush is despicable, so I would hope it is not the authors view). Another example of something I was conflicted on was the extremely graphic nature of the language in the sex scene descriptions compared with the religious tone and world view of the ending. Yes, the author is careful to tell us that this was done on purpose but it felt more titillating rather than shockingly sobering which I found odd.Read more ›

I was both emotionally moved and liberated by this work. I could not put the book down because I felt like I knew all of the characters intimately. I hope it will be made into a movie some day. Great job.

It's real and it is happening everyday. People are ashamed of their sexuality, and shouldn't be. Everyone has a right to live the way they want; who am I are anyone else to judge?
There is a great point in this book. People need to be tested and know who their dealing with. Life can be cruel. Be careful people it's out there and don't care who it lands on.
