Clever and some great character acting and writing!,

Where did this come from!?! A quirky little take on Texas through the eyes of "feruhners." Some great acting, especially from C.K. McFarland as a touching and hilarious back woods woman, Tim Mateer as a weird institution victim, and John Hawkes as a cowboy with a secret. And I love Amanda Root. Fell in love with her in "Persuasion" and love her in this. Get it. It's a surprise!Oh, and a great Texas soundtrack. Lovett, Willie, Marcia Ball!

I have not seen the video, but I did see the original play many years ago in Dallas. I'm an actor, and have been involved in theater and such for eighteen years...and I would say that "In The West' (on which the film is based) is easily one of my top ten favorite theatrical pieces. If the film is anything like the play, you can't help but enjoy it!
