Let's skip over the fact that this is Argento's greatest work and possibly one of the best Giallo films ever made.
I can see how people feel either way on this, it does make the pacing of the film slightly faster, but I think it you lose some character development.
Like Hitchcock's Vertigo, the logic of many of these films' narrative plot were secondary to the emotional mood and visual poetry on display.

Don't hold your breath! Blue Underground blu rays in the past only had one, maybe three special features. It is suppose to be both version of the film (even though its suppose to be one disc).
