Simply written, yet spiritually deep,

My friend recommended this book to me, because I was interested in learning more about the Christian faith and spirituality. Deep-Rooted in Christ expressed deep spiritual insights with poetic language making the faith accessible to me. It really inspired me to seek for wisdom and transformation. I recommend this book for people who want a new perspective on Christianity.

I have got out from knowing Jesus as a man.,

I knew Jesus. But didn't understand Jesus. And even I know and understand Jesus now, had little belief in him. I was recommended to read this book in Korean from my fellow. The title of this book, 'Deep-Rooted', hit me strongly at first sight. My belief in Jesus was like a cut-flower without root. Holy spirit inside of me went along just a week or even shorter. This book introduced me to live in a stongly rooted, so stable and calmly, not shaken by the wind or storm.

A Beautiful Book...inside and out,

I purchased this book because it was recommended through Renovare. Christopher Webb their new leader (He took on the responsibilities of Richard Foster who has stepped away from this position) reviewed it at the beginning of 2008 and named it their (Renovare's) book of the year. Because of his recommendation I bought a copy for myself as well as my mother and we read it for 2008. When I was thinking about gifts to give that would feed peoples spirits for 2009 this precious book came to mind. I bought 10 copies to give to those I love and want to bless...Hope that gives you insight into how I feel about this book.
The book has artwork on its cover that is beautiful... The book has words and an anointing from the Holy Spirit that also makes it beautiful on the inside.

I met Mr. Kang at a Renovare' retreat and he is the most humble quite man. His book reflects his deepness. It's perfect for me when I first wake up.Each section is only about 2-pages, so it's not that long but each section I drank in, so simple but deep at the same time. I bought another one because my husband kept taking it and he loves it too. You will not be disapointed, trust me, one of the best books I have ever read. Blessings Rachelle

Simple, beautiful, and a real blessing,

This book has been a huge blessing to me. Sections are short and concise (a few pages each), but they are full of Bible-based wisdom and valuable lessons. I recommend this book to anyone looking to grow in their relationship with Christ or wondering what it might look like to follow Christ.

I picked up this book recently and was pleasantly surprised by its accessibility and simplicity, combined with it depth and gentle honesty. This book isn't too deep for one seeking to head toward the deeper waters of faith, but not to shallow for ones who have lingered in the depths already and want more. I have been walking with the Lord for over 20 years and learned a great deal through this book. It presents pursuing the desire for transformation through spiritual disciplines in a way that doesn't overwhelm or burden, while bringing hope and encouragement for the journey.
A dear friend of mine often has said that the essence of living the Christian life is learning the basics of the faith over and over again at a deeper level, as well as learning to apply these basics to our lives. This book is a way to access much of the understanding of Christ's transforming and sanctifying work in us in bites that are just the right size to re-read and apply on a daily basis. While certainly meant as a book for reading in short excerpts, I read half of the book in one afternoon and was refreshed by its simple yet deep message. This book would be perfect as a personal devotional in times of transition and seeking, for daily meditative reading, or read straight through as a quicker read. It is definitely a great book for the thirsty!

A little slow in the beginning but picks up and takes one deeper and deeper. Very helpful direction. Just enough pokind and proding to push me along the spiritual maturity journey in Christ. I found myself coming back to some chapters on a daily basis and a number I shared with my leadership team and staff.
