4.0 out of 5 stars Like a new campaign setting, September 16, 2005

This review is from: Deep Space: The Interplanetary Supplement for Cyberpunk 2020 (Paperback)
If you want to run a campaign set completely in space, ie with characters as colonizers/space marines/explorers/etc (think Total Recall, perhaps Red Faction) this sourcebook is an absolute must. It will give you all the rule sets you need to run a CP2020 campaign into pseudo-futuristic space.

If you want to use the CP2020 ruleset in a hyper-futuristic space setting (something akin to Starcraft, Star Trek, etc), you're out of luck with this sourcebook. The sourcebook was written at the same time as most of the rest of the game's books (80's-90's) and they had a pretty realistic view of where space travel would be at around the year 2020.

If you have a ground-bound campaign that may make the occassional foray into space (ala Neuromancer) then you might consider this book, especially if your characters will be attempting combat in space. It's a good resource to keep your punks on their toes in the new environment.

Overall, a good sourcebook (if a bit specific in its applicability) and a very good update for Near Orbit (the CP 2013 version of the sourcebook).
