Deep Water [Paperback]

Julian Caldecott (Author), Melanie Salmon (Author)

Available from these sellers.

Book Description

April 2000
Packed with full-color pictures from the world's leading marine photographers, Deep Water is an exploration and celebration of the beauty of marine life. From the simplest organisms to the magnificence of whales, the diversity, inter-dependency and fragility of life in the sea is revealed and explained. The increasingly destructive effects of man's exploitation of the oceans are also shown, but this book shows that positive action can be taken in many ways and at levels ranging from the individual to the governmental. Deep Water has been produced in association with the Living Earth Foundation and with the support of the United Nations Environmental Programme and Global Ocean.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Deep Water is quite stunning. This explanation of ocean life is science-made-moreish--it seems wilder and weirder than anything dreamed up in the movies, but it's here on our living earth. -- Joanna Lumley
