5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read Book
This is a very good book. The Arthur keeps it real and brings the characters to life by giving the reader a chance to get to know the characters inner feelings and personalities. It is filled with issues that a lot of us are faced with on a day to day basis. I look forward to reading more books by Lee Hayes.

2.0 out of 5 stars Zane continues to lower the quality of books
I really was excited to get this book. Never been a big fan of Zane, but she is a good storyteller. Horrible with her grammar and literary skills, so when I saw she edited the book I became nervous.
My fears were well founded.
This should not have gotten past a high school teachers editing pen. Horrible technique, like almost entire pages of one person...

This review is from: A Deeper Blue: Passion Marks II (Paperback)
What happens when a woman is scorned? Scorned is an understatement in A DEEPER BLUE: Passion Marks II, the much-awaited sequel to Passion Marks by author Lee Hayes and is filled with drama, lust, lies, infidelity and murder.

When Kevin Davis and Daryl Harris experience some hard times in their relationship Daryl must choose between the love he has for Kevin and the temptation constantly calling him in the form of a hot-bodied male named Temple. Both men in Daryl's life have women from their past and present who have been scorned and will stop at nothing to seek full revenge. Revenge is the driving force for Cerina Ford, a woman who is desperate for Temple's love and an emotional connection that he is unwilling to give her. Cerina's discovery that Temple is in love with Daryl fuels her obsession with him and makes her do deadly things. While the woman scorned by Kevin is pulling out all the stops to extract her "perfect" revenge, she is determined to make sure that he loses everything, no matter the cost. However, while trying to destroy Kevin's life, her life is in danger as well, and none of their lives will ever be the same. The webs of lies and deceit have been spun, and only the strong will survive the hell that has been planned for them.

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. A DEEPER BLUE: Passion Marks II is a fast-paced book that takes the reader through several twists and turns. It is filled with drama and suspense, from page one. The characters will evoke emotions from you that will make you feel as if you are sitting right there next to them. The author does a fantastic job with reintroducing former characters and providing just enough details to let you follow along if you didn't read Passion Marks. Author Lee Hayes delves into the consequences of love, lust and infidelity, leaving you wanting more of this wonderful book. Kudos to the author on a job well done.

Quite frankly, A Deeper Blue is addictive, sexy, and full of surprises. Lee Hayes continues the passion and drama from Passion Marks in A Deeper Blue. You will not be disappointed with the character and plot development. The stories of each character can be seen as real, with a mixture of pity and fear. I absolute love this novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, January 10, 2006

Lee Hayes...What can I say? Somehow, someway you have managed to write a sequel that surpassed the already ingenious original. "Passion Marks" was one of my alltime favorites, now "A Deeper Blue" has left me spellbound and in awe by your masterful artistry. There was so much suspense and drama and I loved every page of it--beginning to end! This was a GREAT READ.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lee A. Hayes has outdone himself with Passion Marks 2, January 5, 2006
This review is from: A Deeper Blue: Passion Marks II (Paperback)
First, I must say that I share Zane's "passion" for Mr. Hayes' writing style. The verisimilitude of the characters is such, that no movie screen could bring the characters to life any better.

With all of the drama and suspense of Passion Marks 1, one would be hard pressed to believe that Lee could out do himself without being too sensational, or overly dramatic. He does just that, and with twists and turns so real, that you WILL get some butterflies in your stomach somewhere while reading this novel. There are characters from the first novel who resurface, so make sure you keep Part 1 handy for quick reference and buckle in for the ride. Kevin Davis went through hell with his ex, but that's only the beginning of his private hell.

I won't give anything away, I'll just say I bought the book Tuesday and between sleep and work, I'm done two days later. It's just that good! A reccommended reading for any lover of suspense, love and drama, gay or straight! Kudos Lee A. Hayes!

5.0 out of 5 stars DAMN GooOoood!!!, July 7, 2011
This review is from: A Deeper Blue: Passion Marks II (Paperback)
Bold betrayals, toxic infidelity, dark secrets, ugly jealousy, well-developed characters... Lee Hayes has weaved a well-developed, gripping, fast-paced conventional erotic tale of the blues in which he addresses the choices, actions and outcomes of those various choices we make that ultimately challenges the sanctity of a healthy relationship. A wonderful cast of characters, a perfect story of flawed individuals, action-filled, lust filled, tender, erotic...

I love authors who make me think. Well in this novel, Lee Hayes left me with some food for thought, such as: What keeps me grounded in 15-years of marriage? Is my hubby happy? If so, what can I do to further his happiness, and my own?

I look forward to reading more from this author in the future and will be looking out for him.
Highly plausible, well-crafted tale. OMG, MUST READ!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Zane continues to lower the quality of books, September 15, 2007

I really was excited to get this book. Never been a big fan of Zane, but she is a good storyteller. Horrible with her grammar and literary skills, so when I saw she edited the book I became nervous.
My fears were well founded.
This should not have gotten past a high school teachers editing pen. Horrible technique, like almost entire pages of one person dialogue.
So many cliches, and the women characters were make believe and unrealistic.
Sentences like "..the music was jumpin', bodies were pumpin', and Temple was ready for some humpin'" made me want to scream. Phrases like "...his bodily movements..." were painful to read.
I struggled to read past the first two chapters, but forced myself to read the entire book.
The author has not gotten the basic idea of "show it, dont tell it"
There has got to be some good black gay writers out here.
This guy has talent and ability, unfortunately he is being tutored by Zane. Which means she only cares about the sex in the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good to the last Drop!, October 23, 2011
This review is from: A Deeper Blue: Passion Marks II (Paperback)
Lee Hayes had definately written a great story that taped into my emotions. Here in A Deeper Blue: Passion Marks II, Mr. Hayes has weaved a great story of emotional conflicts of revenge, anger, infidelity, love, trust and lies. These emotional conflicts provided twists and turns for lovers Kevin Davis and Daryl Harris as their actions and choices challenged the very essance of their relationship. Lee Hayes created a story of gay love and desire that has a ring of truth and resonates with some basic universal aspects of what each human being is capable of when we are faced with emotional conflicts of revenge, anger, infidelity, love, trust and lies. This book was good to the last drop because I could indentify with the situations and the well-developed characters and I could not put the book down once I began reading it. I am still thinking about the characters and tone of the book even after I've finished reading the story. I hope that Mr. Hayes brings back Kevin and Daryl for round 3. This is a great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!, June 23, 2011
This review is from: A Deeper Blue: Passion Marks II (Paperback)
This is one of the best books I have ever read, and I relayed that information to the author, with whom I am friends with on Facebook. I love the twists and turns of gay love when it is complicated by an outside factor. This book is a great follow-up to the first installment of Passion Marks which I love as well. They are both sitting on my mantle as we speak!

5.0 out of 5 stars Could not it fast enough, March 18, 2011
This review is from: A Deeper Blue: Passion Marks II (Paperback)
Lies, betryal, pain , and deception is what all great movies are made of. As I read this it was like a movie in my mind. Lives are altered foerver from the hell and fury of a women scorned. Cerina pines for the love of Temple, her bisexual man who had made a life of using others. Temple sets out on a mission to seduce Daryl but never planned to fall in love. Daryl had gained the affection and heart of his best friend turned to lover kevin who has managed to bickup the pieces of his broked life after years of abuse at thwe hands of a psychotic lover that died three years earlier. Daryl battles to stay with his true love and tries to cut ties with the the irresistable Temple. Kevin is praying his relationship is soldid but clues ellude that the facade of his happy home may be falling part, just when things start looking up a blast from Kevin's past resurfaces with the fury of tsunami and sets out to blow the pieces of the life he has made to bits and pieces. I could not put this dowe and Lee Hayes has garnered a spot as one of my favorite authors. Be sure to check out his other works and you will thirst for more.
