"deeper" and "harder"?,

There are some decent tracks here. The mixing between tracks is nothing to complain about, definitely up to par. My main contention is how this mix has been marketed.Seeing the title "Deeper and Harder" made me think immediately of a harder house/trance mix, much like Johnny Vicious' Ultra Dance 1.2 mix, or even his Ultra Trance 3.2 mix, which is excellent if you like the harder hitting, synth piercing, non-stop bass pounding style of trance. Throughout the first half I kept wondering when the beats would get 'hard' (I could see 'deep' if pressed), let alone the title's superlatives. It wasn't until Armand van Heldon's "My My My" and especially Y.O.M.C's "Baila," which has a reverberating buzzsaw bass kick as main rhythm (think Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction" on speed), that the pace kicked up a notch worthy of the album's title. If not for those two tracks in the latter half, among a few others, I would have been very disappointed. As it stands, the mix is decent for what it is, your basic 'of the moment' mix of disco-ish vocal house beats - Shape:UK's ubiquitious "Lola's Theme" for instance, among a few other's of a similar vein - and a few 'not as common' cuts like "Baila," or even Vicious' own "Nitro," which is decent enough though perhaps needing an extra kick to get even it in higher gear. It's not bad, but I've enjoyed better mixes. Just be aware that how this mix was marketed when compared to it's track selection left much to be desired. Could be a case of high expectations with this spinner. Proceed with caution.

Johnny Vicious... What more can I say,

Long time lover of Johnny Vicious... I have all his other mix cds , and this one is just as good... Great track selections... and more than just one sound, so much different elements in this mix. The only mix I dont like is between "Baila" by Y.O.M.C and "Dance with Me" by Dj Russ Harris Feat. Alina... THe Baila song is too fast at the end , and the next song is dropped at a good moment, but it's not as fast so it takes the intensity down... All in all though it's a great mix... If you love Vicious you will love this CD

For this price, this disc is a great buy. Not only is the mixing superb, but the tracks are all really fun as well. The title is a little miseleading because there isn't really anything Deeper or Harder going on here, but compared to the last few awful albums put out by Ultra and Thrive, this is a gem.

I have all of Johnny's mix CDs and not have I never complained, but loved everyone. Deeper & Harder is the worst CD I've heard in a long time. It's to slow and every song has singing in it. I don't mind singing, just not that much. I thought that with a title like that it was going to have great hard beats, but I was wrong. I don't recommend this CD, I'd wait for his next title to come out.
