A fruit salad of His goodness,
By
This review is from: A Deeper Level (Audio CD)
This is truly Israel and New Breed's most diverse and unique, live album that has been created thus far. The main reason why I say it's unique because usually their album starts off with an upbeat song. However, this album jumps right into prayer and worship to take you into a deeper level in Christ on the song "So Come".
Now the reason why I say it's the most diverse because of the diversity of genre on this album. It's like a fruit salad of His goodness. They have a song that takes you over to the Latin/Hispanic community in the song called "Long Life" with T-Bone. Then they take you over to Africa in the song called "Identity". Then flows you into the CCM genre that's more popular in the white community in the song "I Know Who I Am", which is interestingly enough happens to be my favorite song on the album. It's interesting because I'm black and I usually only buy black gospel music. After hearing that song it makes me want to go buy a CCM album that I may have liked but never would buy. Well anyway, they eventually take us into the African-American community on the song "Surely Surely" which kind of has a hip hop, jazzy sound to it that exhorts you to praise/shout that God surely is Holy and as a result to help to tear down the walls of ungodliness, depression, and affliction but done with love. So I would say this album is definitely worth buying because it's a very timely album, it's good for building bridges with other cultures, and it can help take you to a deeper level in Christ.

Deep Worship,
By Hand Maid "handmaid of the Lord" (Michigan USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Deeper Level (Audio CD)
This CD is any awesome successor to Alive in South Africa. It is powerful! DO NOT HESITATE TO PURCHASE! You will truly be blessed. Every song is incredible. I worshipped, praised and cried. Deep cries out to deep! My favorites are "If Not for Your Grace", "With Long Life", "Say So", "The Prayers of the Righteous" and everything else. Its hard to pick just a few to mention. I agree with another reviewer. It can't be put in just one genre. It spans many. There are no duds here! It is evident that Israel and New Breed really consecrated themselves and all who hear this CD will be blessed. Bring on the DVD! God bless you Israel and New Breed!!

Just when you think...,
This review is from: A Deeper Level (Audio CD)
you've arrived, God calls you to go even deeper in him. It took me a few days to really put words to how I felt after listening to this cd and viewing the bonus dvd & extras. As always, Israel & New Breed trust God and releases albums that are just refreshing. However, this one is different and perhaps, with a greater purpose in mind. This cd will cause the follower of Christ to be made humble once again. It is truly all about Jesus throughout the entire album. This is a cd that I can just put on and press play. I don't have to jump to any specific song, praise God b/c it's really all about him.
"So Come" is an invitation to enter into His presence. "The Prayers of The Righteous" shows just how important prayer is in the life of a believer. "Say So" shows the purpose of the follower of Christ 'to be salt (seasoned/mature) and a light (...on a hill cannot be hidden) and if You are so Called, then wer're encouraged to Say So! "Long Life" proves how good God is being our creator and being the only one great enough to sustain his creation. "Identity" is such an encouraging song for those believers who don't know who they are or happen to lose themselves in the image of others instead of the image of their creator (let us make man in our image). "I Know Who I Am" reminds me of a song of thanksgiving that encourages one to proclaim that they know who they are in Jesus and it is Him whom they belong. "I Will Search For You" exalts God and how deeply the believer seeks the face of God. "Surely, Surely" gives the praise to God for being Holy, and without a doubt the current 'I AM THAT I AM' and to shout and declare victory over sin because the believer is victorious in Christ. "If Not For Your Grace" simply leaves the believer to contemplate over their own personal life outside of everything else and where their life would be today had it not been for the Lord God Almighty. "Deeper" is an awesome song that shows the heart of a believer that is ready to go deeper into the real things that concern God (those that are lost, those that you wouldn't normally place yourself among) beyond Sunday worship service, Wednesday bible study, etc. "We Have Overcome" is a song of triumph and thanksgiving unto God for making a way for His people. "You Are Not Forgotten" can both be applied to both the lost and the believer. It's a song that can be taken from the heart of God to His creation. God Bless you Israel & New Breed. I viewed the DVD, and NEW BREED is definitely not selfish. Thank you for being so out the box that no one can place a label on the sound! It was a breath of fresh air to see the different nationalities on stage worshipping the Lord as one voice. Thank you for releasing that with the cd.

Not Just Music But Ministry As Well,

This is an awesome, anointed, and relevant music CD by a gospel artist. The songs are amazing but more importantly the worship is intense. Once again, Israel and New Breed have developed a CD which crosses cultural, generational lines. Simply one of the best if not the best CD that this group has come out with. A Deeper Level in Christ is what it's supposed to be about and this CD is a perfect example of such. Too many times, gospel/christian artists are more concerned with producing relevant music (i.e., the beat) as opposed to the message and fortunately this CD is a good marriage of music and message. I highly recommend this and all of the other CD's from Israel and New Breed.

Looking for some good praise & worship when you not ready to praise & worship? Huh? That's right this album is very easy to listen to and each song is a progression to take you closer and closer to God via praise and worship. So if you are down in the doldrums or not sure that this song or that song will do it for you, pop in A Deeper Level and you may find yourselves being reminded of who God is, your place (songs: Identity, I Know Who I Am) and then you will focus on God's majesty and worth (songs: I Will Search).
This album does not reproduce any of the prior I&NB offerings but rather complements them-- like a bookcase of fine books this is an additional book to add to the bookcase fitting out your room. Really good!! Highly recommended for all worshipers regardless of race, creed, location.

Here we go again!!!!!!!,
This review is from: A Deeper Level (Audio CD)
This new cd by Israel and New Breed has to be the best gospel cd out right now. I am not being bias because Israel is my favorite singer. I have recently heard other Gospel/Christian music that's out now and this one is so solid. I loved Alive In South Africia, played the cd and video until it fell apart. Every song is great to hear and worship the Lord God with. If any cd you get this year, get this one. I can't wait until the video comes out.

A New Sound of Worship,
By N.B. "N.B." (N.Y.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Deeper Level (Audio CD)
I have to say at the outset that I always anticipate Israel and New Breed's projects because they have such a uniquely powerful and pure sound of worship. I was, however, wonderfully surprised to hear a truly distinct sound on this album, especially in light of the dynamic Alive in South Africa project. When you listen to this project, I don't mean to sound cliche-ish, but please expect to be challenged to go a deeper level with the Lord--for real. It is obvious to me that everyone who took part in the composition of this project underwent a radical transformation from the last album. I must stress the different SOUND that emanates from this album. I am not really referring to the wonderfully diverse musical and vocal arrangements or lyrics. But beyond all of that (and all of those things are great on this album, as is befitting a New Breed project!), there is a sound that comes out of these folks that, I feel, lets us know that if we choose not to change then we will never really experience that full life that the Lord Jesus died to give us. This comes through in a powerful way through every song, instrumental, and speaking moment on this album. Please invest in your inner man and support this dynamic, timely ministry. I'm never disappointed with New Breed, and I'm sure that you won't be either. Join the movement! :)

Simply Amazing!,
By Abba's Daughter (New York City) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A Deeper Level (Audio CD)
What can I say? It was simply amazing! I love the whole CD, but if I had to choose favorites, I would have to choose, "Prayers of the Righteous", "Deeper", and "If Not For your Grace". "Deeper" speaks to me more profoundly than the others because it mirrors the heart that God has given me to pray for the nations.
Pick this up... There is something on it for everyone, and you will most certainly NOT be disappointed!

For TRUE WORSHIPPERS who are ready to worship in spirit and truth,
This review is from: A Deeper Level (Audio CD)
From the first track I was drawn in...just from Israel's declarations...all it took was one mention of scripture "the plow man will overtake the reaper" ...and it hit a spot that I didn't know was in need of watering. This cd has literally changed my life. It speaks to the broken places...even the ones you didn't know were broken until you listened to the songs. My absolute favorite is "Prayers of the Righteous"...particularly the end of the song that declares that God is miraculous...when I'm driving I literally look up into the sky and declare this to the Lord!!! And I absolutely adore "I Know Who I Am"!!! I love Chris Tomlin. And I cannot forget "I Will Search"...this was the first song on the cd that drew me in! "With Long Life" reminds me that death and life are in the power of the tongue...and "Say So" is definitely a jump up and down declaration powerhouse of a song! And, finally, I love the last track "You Are Not Forgotten"...especially the tribute to the tune from Bonnie DeBarge's "A Dream" (widely known from Tupac Shakur's "I Ain't Mad Atcha"). This cd is VERY encouraging and is great for those who are definitely trying to make it to another dimension in God. It has some traditional praise and worship, but is definitely a more mature approach to praise and worship...it is soooo evident that they followed the leading of the spirit when making this. I heard they fasted before coming together to do this project, and it definitely shows!

Another Anointed CD by Israel & New Breed,
This review is from: A Deeper Level (Audio CD)
Anyone who has heard any CD by Israel & New Breed knows that they carry a special anointing for live performances. This CD is additional evidence of that. It starts out by welcoming the presence of God into the time of worship and reminding Him that we know who He is. I say "we" because when I listen to this CD, I feel like I was there with them at the concert. It is "that" anointed! The next few tracks remind us not only of who God is, but of who WE are in Him. I don't know about you, but when I think of my human tendencies, I need to be reminded that God still thinks I'm special, that He loves me and that I can come to Him as I am. Thank goodness. Tracks like "I know who I am", "Surely Surely", "With Long Life", and "Identity" leave no doubt as to who YOU are in Christ Jesus. The CD ends with the beautiful acoustic-sounding song "You are not forgotten". Though the titles may be similar to songs done before, the song is different.
While the CD is very anointed, it still displays the talent of Israel & New Breed, as well as guest artistes Darlene Zschech, Jonny Lang, YPJ, T-Bone, and others. I must admit, though, that while this CD is great, my fave is still "Live in South Africa". This one comes in second, though. I highly recommend it! I especially recommend it to anyone who has had an abortion, anyone who questions their gender assignment, and others who suffer from guilt about their past acts ... Israel speaks specifically to these things in "Surely Surely (Speaking)". |
