About the Author

Carmen was born on August 26, 1975 at 7:35 a.m. in Rolla, Missouri. Carmen began studying astrology at the age of 17. The study of astrology was ignited by an experience she had with a glowing ball of light in her doorway. From a young age she had psychic experiences in the form of visions, dreams and intuition. She studied various religions and beliefs to try to explain the experiences that she had. Astrology changed her life for the better and in 1995 she made the decision to share her knowledge with others. Carmen graduated with her Bachelor's in Human Services from Fontbonne University in 1997. She continued her counseling education and received her Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in May 1999. Carmen has worked with children in a variety of settings since 1994. She has worked primarily with at-risk youth and their families for the past 13 years. She has worked within various non-for-profit agencies and provided individual and family counseling to abused children, adopted children and teens. She has worked for the United States Army and Air Force Family Advocacy programs. She has a deep desire to personally address issues of child abuse and domestic violence within society and within the military family. She lived in Germany for three years, and traveled Europe extensively. Her travels enabled her to meet a variety of individuals from different cultures and to broaden her astrological counseling skills. Carmen recently founded the "Astrological Self Awareness Center" as a way to reach out to others through the internet. The goal of the Astrological Self-Awareness Center is to educate and increase awareness for the scientific basis of astrology. Her mission is to help others through educating, teaching and providing full range spiritual services and resources.

About the author:
Carmen Turner-Schott, MSW, LISW, is a practicing clinical social worker, intuitive astrologer and teacher with national and international clientele. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1997. She completed her Master of Social Work degree at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1999.

She founded the Astrological Self Awareness Center in 2005 as a way to reach out to others through the internet and to offer counseling and spiritual coaching. Carmen has been researching the eighth and twelfth astrological houses for the past 17 years. As an eighth and twelfth house person herself, she has personally experienced the energies and lessons of these two very spiritually transforming houses.

Carmen began her astrological work at the age of 16 and began studying religion, spirituality, astrology, metaphysics and the Edgar Cayce material at that time. She has presented astrology workshops for the Association of Research and Enlightenment and teaches online eGroup courses on astrology for the A.R.E. Virginia Beach Headquarters. She enjoys teaching a variety of spiritual development classes. She is the Editor of the Psycho-Spiritual section on "All Things Healing" and the Norfolk Holistic Health Examiner and enjoys publishing articles online.

I enjoyed reading this book thoroughly....it was an easy read and I found myself looking up my friends and family members' birthdays and then going back through it to see how their personalities compared with the author's descriptions. Surprisingly, her sun signs personality definitions truly matched the people I knew, including me. I would reccommend this book to anyone looking for a fun way to analyze yourself and others using the sun signs.

I am so impressed by this book. She has an art for writing. I've finally found a book about the sun signs that I understand! She definitely knows her stuff! I highly recommend this book, it is very basic and easy to understand. Thank you, it has explained alot to me about myself.
