Ive been a L Dudek fan since the early 1980s. I had all of his "records" in those days and found him to be a first class guitarist and a creative lyricist. His style of R & B was unique and exciting. He has always written his own stuff and was always a hard worker when we saw him at the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach, CA.
Well, this CD is the best Dudek R & B yet in my book. The cuts are terrific and include a couple of the cuts we heard "live" in the 1980s. Searing guitar solos with a solid backbeat that has made Les popular with many bands and well played musicians. If you liked Les's stuff in the 1980s and 1990s-this is the same only more so. He reminds me even more of some of the early Steve Miller cuts (when Miller really played his guitar), particularly live. Just buy it, you'll really like it.

Les Dudek and his band totally rock on this cd, Deeper Shades of Blues. There are ten songs on this cd, and every one of them is great. My favorite songs are Leavin My Blues Behind, Deeper Shades of Blues, and Assault and Battery. Les's guitar playing is awesome, and some of the notes he plays fly at you like bullets. He plays what I call bluesrock, because his music is a combination of both. Les has played on numerous Allman Brother's cd's and Les has written songs that the Allman Brothers band still play to this day. Looking for a great cd to buy, and rock out? Then buy this one.
