This review is from: Deeply Woven Roots (Paperback)
This book provides good language for congregational development. Gunderson argues that congregations are already doing vital but largely invisible work in our communities. Deeply Woven Roots takes us to the next step: making visible that invisible network of change agents. Gunderson's most striking practical suggestion is to make a map of connections in your congregation (p. 64). And then he tells us to look for the "patterns of need" in our communities. His mixture of stories, theology, and practicality provides a solid tool for lay leaders as well as pastors.
