5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting read February 2, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Well I am over half way through, and it seems to be a good general guide. It is directed to the "thinking hunter" rather than the rent a ranch, shoot a beast from 3 yards to stick on your wall and brag to your mates type. A good angle to come from I think. I am off to the woods now, just to contemplate the points it has raised so far. It's great to have the book in your phone too, helping to pass the time behind your blind waiting, and waiting and waiting.
I recommend it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Deer Hunting Secrets Exposed April 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book will not provide any revolutionary tips to the seasoned hunter, but it is a good checklist to stay honed in on the countless things any land owner and deer hunter must always remember. I bought this book in the Kindle Edition and brush up on some tips while hunting or killing time while planting food plots on the farm.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great book for the new or experienced hunter. December 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've hunted deer during rifle season for almost 40 years. I learned several tactics that apply to the dense mountain property I hunt. Especially how to use binoculars more effectively and what to look for when glassing an area. I recently bought a crossbow to enjoy the PA archery season and found the book to be helpful regarding scents to attract deer during the rut and how to better hide my scent. Easy, simple, reading. Thanks Charlie!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I was expecting. August 31, 2013

I guess at 50 years old, I've reached that point in my hunting career where there isn't much new to me in the written context. This would be very good book for a new hunter looking for some tips and advice. For us old guys, we are best served by trying not to repeat the mistakes of the past and putting boot leather to the ground scouting.
