The shoes themselves are comfortable and good looking for casual wear, however they are not as advertised on amazon. I am a vegetarian and was on a hunt for a reasonably priced pair of good looking casual shoes that are made of synthetic materials only and I came upon these Deertags by typing vegetarian shoes into the search engine. They say manmade in description, but low in behold I order them and look at the stiched tag on the inside and yes their upper is partially made of leather. What a waste of time for anyone looking not to where animal skin on their feet!!! Otherwise buy them.

I have ordered a handful of "vegan" friendly shoes over the years. By comparison, I'd have to say that this is one of the better pairs I've pruchased.
The shoes themselves look smart, just casual enough to look good with jeans but plenty of class to wear them with slacks and a tie to work.
The best part is that they are considerably lighter than the last pair of dress shoes I owned, and far more comfortable!
My main concern now is to see how long they hold up (I've found several of the synthetic "leathers" that I've worn before have started cracking and tearing a year or two later).
But so far, so good.

I have degenerating nerves in my back causing tremendous pain in my feet for the past ten years. Every step I take feels like walking on glass. These are the only shoe that I can wear that gets me through a ten hour day at work which requires much walking. GREAT SHOE!!!

Very pleased with these shoes. Its hard to find wide shoes that look and feel good. I have some Rockport Shoes . These feel just as good. They are well made.

After reading contradictory reviews on the materials used for this shoe, I contacted Deer Stag directly to inquire whether or not it is made of genuine leather. E. Philips is correct, this shoe, and all of the Deer Stag line is made of genuine leather. However, the Soft Stag line has a similar looking shoe called the Tremor that is made of synthetic materials. I will gladly remove my 1 star review once the description on this shoe has been changed (which will hopefully be soon since I contacted amazon customer service).

If you're not planning on eating these shoes, they're perfect. Why people would rate a shoe based on whether it's vegan or not is just plain insane. Please disregard these wackos and purchase these shoes with confidence. They're comfy, sexy and affordable.
