Perfect for those with foot problems.,

Having been plagued with foot problems from youth, I have tried just about every shoe imaginable. Then, four years ago a foot specialist told me that the only way to solve my problem was through an expensive operation that would "bed" me for about 4-6 months. And, he could not guarantee success. Then, I heard about Deer Stags from a foot doctor who has worked with warehouse managers on a local news program. He was a huge fan. So, I figured that I had tried everything else and, for the price, why not? I plunked down my $50. Several days later, my foot pain was gone for the first time in my life (I was 58 at the time). It has never returned. If you are going to buy Deer Stags, however, I would make three suggestions: 1) when you find a style that you like in your size, buy 2-3 (stocks vary widely and some become unavailable for months at a time), 2) definitely get extra shoe laces (the ones they ship with are cheap and break easily after a couple of months), 3) trade them out every 6-9 months - the feeling when they are brand new is incredible but gets lost over time. I donate my "used" Deer Stags to Goodwill - they are always glad to see these. I am just opening my sixth pair and now really enjoy walking. Even with these minor considerations, Deer Stags still rank a five for me.

This is the only brand shoe I buy for work. Considering the price point of these shoes, they look great and they're unbelievably comfortable in comparison with pricier(albeit, more formal) shoes. My only complaint is a consistent one. I've been buying this brand of shoe since 2004 and the shoe laces are terrible. They usually begin to fray after about 2 months of regular use, I recommend anyone buying these shoes to consider buying an extra pair of laces, this is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

I usually purchase from Zappos, but they didn't have this shoe in this size. Delivery was a little slower then Zappos. The price was the same. The shoe is pretty good for the price. I think it's a bit wider then most. Keeping in mind that this is not a $200 pair of shoes, it is pretty good looking.

I ordered these shoes two months ago. I was looking for some comfortable, durable shoes that I could wear for work. On the job I am on my feet most of the day and also do quite a lot of bending, stooping and getting down on one knee. As a result most shoes end up breaking down very quickly.
I've been wearing these shoes nearly every weekday for the last two months for about 9 hours a day and they look great! I haven't polished them yet they keep a nice shine. There's no visible signs of wear yet One cheaper pair I had prior to this lasted about two weeks before the uppers started falling apart. I am SO glad I found shoes that were long lasting and still relatively inexpensive.

I just wanted to write a quick review, shoes were comfortable right out of the box without any break in time. I was leery as dress shoes can be a pain sometimes but I was really impressed! They look sharp and feel great!

I've never bought this brand of shoe before but I'm glad I did. Dressy enough for work but still comfortable without the $$$ price tag. This will be my only brand of shoe I buy for work.

Great buy. My first Deer Stags (won't be my last). The fit is perfect. Comfort & quality are good. Break-in period was about 2 days. Shipped same day as ordered, arrived the very next day! Amazon only sells the 1 color (black) in this style, which is unfortunate (otherwise I'd be ordering more). My only initial "negative" was that there was a loud, clicking sound coming from one heel as I walked through the office. My guess was that the insole insert (the only possible thing that could be moving) was not set into place properly. However, after 3-4 attempts to re-seat it, I must have found the right spot, for the sound went away and has been gone ever since.
===Update=== 7 moths later, that heel that gave me those clicking problems I spoke of the first week finally came loose and has now separated from the shoe (still attached to the sole). Next time I get a heel like that, I'll know to return it right away rather than trying to fix it myself. I hope that it was only a fluke, as these were the most comfortable $50 shoes I've ever owned, and the most worn (4-5 days a week on average). Thus I will be buying another pair (more comfortable than my former "regular" $85 pair, matched comfort cost $130). Even if the new pair only last 7 months, it's still a great value. |
