small town band makes big huge record,

The Comas are amazing. This Chapel Hill foursome made an understated splash with their first album "Wave to Make Friends." Brian Paulson's masterful production of "A Def Needle in Tomorrow" propels them way beyond the low-fi, woozy charm of "Friends" on up into the indie rock stratosphere. They're up there now, watching us from on high as we walk around looking like ants. I listened to this album once and at least three songs stuck in my head for the entire day. I listened to it a second and third time and the whole damn thing has glommed onto my brain and won't let go. I can't wait to listen to it again. Join me in reverence and reverie of the Comas. Buy this CD.

the comas are a band where one can literally hear the growth of the musicians in terms of creativity and originality from each album to the next. I didn't care for "wave to make friends" to much. I love "conductor". this album is snugly nestled between the two. it fits there nicely. doesn't blow me away, but there are some really pretty tracks here. i'd say it was worth buying, but i am really looking foward to their next release. the comas keep getting better and better....

Great Blend of Music,

I first heard about The Comas through the SXSW website and sampled some of their songs. I bought this album and really enjoy the laid back feeling I get when listening to this CD. Words can't really describe how their music effects me. I get absorbed by it. The first song, Arena, is a little difficult to sit through. It sounds like it could use a little work. All of the songs after it really sink their teeth into you and don't let go.
