This review is from: Defaire L'amour (Audio CD)
"Defaire l'Amour" is a wonderful initiation into the repertoire of Bruno Pelletier. Sometimes classified as world music, this album is really unclassifiable. It includes a wide range of styles from rock, folk, blues, romantic ballads, rock opera, and includes an unusual variety of instrumental accompaniments as well, including solos on native American flute, erhu(a Chinese stringed instrument), African drum, electric cello, in addition to the more traditional settings such as electric and acoustic guitars or lush strings. The main reason, however, to sample this record is to hear one of the most breathtakingly beautiful and versatile voices out there. The fact that it is sung in French is irrelevant since his sincerity, sensitivity, and passion are unmistakable in any language.
