Fascinating and factual, November 30, 2001
This review is from: The Defeat of the Enemy Attack on Shipping, 1939-1945: A Revised Edition of the Naval Staff History, Volumes 1a (Text and Appendices) and 1B (Plan and ... (Publications of the Navy Records Society) (Hardcover)
A superb summary of the struggles during WW2 against the combined arms Axis offensive against Allied shipping. Not only does it give decent textual explanations of the ongoing campaign in discreet `chunks', not pulling punches against either side, but it also gives significant statistical data of the conflict in a readable and usable form, which is unlike most other books in its genre.
