The author starts with himself first and covers his life taking up 72 pages and after getting through the authors personal life, he then goes into the actual materials of the book to which is very interesting. It would have been nice if the author had reversed the book and discussed himself after presenting the materials. I would recommend the book and advice those reading that if they want to get to the information presented in the book begin reading after page 72 unless the reader really wants to go through the authors whole life first.

1 of 3 people found the following review helpful By Brian Wilkes on October 21, 2005
A thought-provoking book on the working of the psyche, combining the standard breakdown with elcletic influences. We all feel out of control at times, as if we're being influenced by "something" else, that "someone" is pulling our strings like a puppet, and I'll leave it to others to determine whether come from hidden conflicts within our own minds or external "forcing," to use the engineering term.

Dr. Skillas brings his principles of therapy into sharp focus with incidents from his own often tragic life, balancing with unexpected humor.

This book has helped me get better control over my own life!
