Defeat Your Lazy Habits Once and for All - by Jeff Carter is a nice take-action book to get you focused on un-learning your laziness and creating healthy productive habits. Filled with tips and tricks to get you excited about progress. The author brings to light the reasons why we might be lazy and tactics to remove these causal factors. Great information to defeat your laziness. Sounds all good to me!

Fortunately, this eBook was free, so I boosted the rating accordingly. The writer works to take on the concept of procrastination, and I applaud him for that. It's an important issue. My problem with the eBook though is the fact that it is incredibly generic and not very well written.

The eBook breaks down the basic ways to address procrastination, but all of these methods and the information presented on them can be obtained on multiple websites. The eBook itself is also quite short and basic. Goal setting is obviously one method for handling procrastination, as is using exercise to boost endorphin levels. I don't fault the writer for including general information, but there's nothing here to set it apart from everything else. Even when studies are briefly mentioned, not enough information is provided to fact check the data. Additionally, the eBook lacks nuance and anything to make it stand out from other books on procrastination and self help. For an example of those who pressed on through failure, he tells the story of Edison, one of the most commonly associated stories with perseverance. There's nothing wrong with using that story, but it would have been better if additional resources and stories had been used.

As for the writing itself, the writing is awkward and sometimes grammatically incorrect. Now there's some room for self expression and development. But these kinds of errors are not the kind that typically go along with self expression. They're problems like using the wrong verb tense or strange fragments. They aren't in every single paragraph, but they are scattered throughout. I'm more forgiving of errors in fiction and narratives because writers often attempt forms of expression through experimentation. In a self help book, I expect higher quality writing as a whole.

This is a quick read that gets right to the point of why we procrastinate, how to stop procrastination in its tracks and be productive. It also addresses laziness, causes and how to break out of the cycle.

Wow, this book shined a light on a part of my life I barely realised I could improve on. I've already implemented it's advice and my productivity has shot through the roof. I'm self employed abnd work from home so if I don't motivate myself the work doesn';t get done and I don't get paid! This is just the information I need to shift myself up a gear or two!

With the New Year come new habits. One of the bad habits that I am trying to break is procrastination....and laziness. I have this great suspicion that this book was written for me...the author just doesn't know it. Lol. I am the epitome of the concept...start a project and never see it to fruition. My closet is a testament to that fact considering you can't even open the door without an avalanche of half finished projects falling on your head. I want to change the way I handle projects and tasks in my everyday life. This is my goal and Defeat Your Lazy Habits Once And For All - How To Overcome Laziness And Procrastination by Jeff Carter is going to help me achieve it.

When I saw the book, I got excited. I thought it might provide me some solutions on how to drag myself out of the muck and mire and actually finish some important projects in 2014. After reading it, I have every confidence that I can actually make it happen!
Carter provides a concise list of ways to break out of the procrastination habit and to increase your performance in everyday tasks. For those, like me, who struggle with getting the job done, this book is a definite must-read. If you can take one or two ideas from this author and implement them into your own life, then the book is worth your time and money.
