Mystery for us all!, July 26, 2006
This review is from: Defective Goods: A Kyle Shannon Mystery (Paperback)
Come on, when was the last time you read a good mystery? I mean the type where you have to think, there's no bloodfest and you care about the outcome? I thought so. Defective Goods is that kind of story where you want Kyle Shannon to stay as good as she is, but you want the crime solved. I especially like the characters, who are so real. Take some time to relax, curl up in front of the fireplace with a good mystery and enjoy.

Linda Mickey just gets better and better with each mystery she writes. The descriptions are vivid and put you in the moment. You want to keep turning the pages to figure out "who dun it". This was a great piece and the research accurate as usual. Can't wait for the next one!

Nothing Defective About This Fast Paced Read, November 27, 2004
This review is from: Defective Goods: A Kyle Shannon Mystery (Paperback)
The ink is barely dry on her employer's contract with Drip Not Paint when temporary worker Kyle Shannon finds herself having coffee with a corpse. And you thought starting a new job was tough! Hired to sort out problems with customer service, Kyle soon discovers irregularities in the family-owned business aren't limited to the inventory. She investigates, only to learn that, chillingly, the murderered man had been following the same trail and now his killer is stalking her.
This is Mickey's(Greased Wheels)second novel and she knows her territory. Filled with authentic police procedure and fascinating glimpses into corporate life where sexual intimidation, internal politics and greed become a deadly mix, Defective Goods is the ultimate "outsider-on-the-inside" novel.
