"James Theodore Holly (1829-1911) was a contemporary of Douglass and Delany, an advocate of black emigration, the first Afro-American bishop consecrated by the Episcopal Church, the founder of the Orthodox Apostolic Church in Haiti, and the first black man to preach in Westminister Abbey. This first book-length biograpy tells the story of a faithful shuchman and a pioneer black nationalist."
