First published in 1996, Ann Jacobs has sold more than twenty-five books and novellas to five publishers: Ellora’s Cave, Red Sage, Berkley, Kensington, and Five Star. A CPA and former hospital financial manager, she now writes full-time except, of course, for the hours she devotes to being a wife and mother to seven kids. A transplanted midwesterner, she's lived in west-central Florida all her adult life. Ann Jacobs is a sucker for lusty Alpha heroes and happy endings. Erotic romance, to her, is the perfect combination of sex, sensuality, deep emotional involvement and lifelong commitment--the elusive fantasy women often dream about but seldom achieve.

First published in 1996, Jacobs has sold nearly a hundred books and novellas. She is currently nominated for Romantic Times' 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award for excellence in erotic romance, as well as having had books nominated by RT reviewers for best erotic romance. Her books have earned awards including the Passionate Plume, the Desert Rose, and More Than Magic She has been a double finalist in separate categories of the EPPIES and From the Heart RWA Chapter's contest. A CPA and former hospital financial manager, Jacobs now writes full-time, with the help of Mr. Blue, the family cat who sometimes likes to perch on the back of her desk chair and lend his sage advice. He sometimes even contributes a few random letters when he decides he wants to try out the keyboard. (Most of the time Blue just curls up, hides his eyes with his paws...and sleeps!)

Ann Jacobs writes characters you can really connect with. These books are both hot, but there's deep emotion and conflict within the characters that makes them so much more than just other books full of hot, imaginative sex. I like that in both of these stories, it's one man, one woman, and that the sex works in with the feelings. In His Own Defense is pure romance with steam heat, while Bittersweet Homecoming brings lovers together again after eight years. Gray, the hero, has suffered severe injuries and fears he won't be able to satisfy Andi, who he remembers as a hot-blooded sub to the Dominant male he can no longer be--at least physically. I loved both of these stories, but the way Gray and Andi dealt with their deep emotional conflicts in Bittersweet Homecoming made it a book I'll re-read over and over.

This is the first book I have read by Ann Jacobs and it won't be my last! Both of these stories were awesome reads! I loved them both. The characters in both really came to life and the struggles they dealt with made them more human than just characters in a book! Definitely a must read!
