Up to date, interisting. Very frank, doesn't pull any punches. Writers have a sense of humor, some areas area a little dry, but for the most part interesting and informitive. It also covers domestic violence, and real cases and the consiquences of ones actions. A little pricy for a paper back.

This book is a must read for all law enforcement, civilian firearms instructors and anyone who carries a gun for self defense.
Although the firearms and self defense laws of the 50 states are very dynamic and change often, this author provides a sound foundation and template for your analysis of each states' laws, which facilitates your understanding of the impact of the changes. It also focuses on the "new" role our courts play in interpreting states' laws and thereby have a huge impact on the perspective and outcome of self defense related cases.

This book should be on the shelf and in the classroom of every CCW instructor. The laws can change anytime the state legislature is in session but this publication gives a baseline and a reference to the statutes so it's easier to research changes if/when that happens. This book also demonstrates how much the laws can differ between states.

It's an important guide and excellent reference for defense attorneys also. Buy it, read it, enjoy.

The book is written in a very entertaining format and it's a must read for every gun owner. If you don't know the law you could find yourself in a very difficult situation trying to defend yourself.
Highly recommended.

PRINTED EDITION 5 STARS
I have, over the years, studied many books, articles, and magazines on self defense (shoot/no-shoot) laws. This book by Mitch and Evan Vilos is the best, most concise, entertaining, and accurate book on this complex subject that I have ever had the pleasure to read. It doesn't just rely on what the laws and statutes say for a particular state, but how they are actually *interpreted* by the courts. Sometimes there is a HUGE disparity between the two. In fact, there can be such a big dissimilarity that it can literally mean the difference between spending the next 30 years bending over to pick up the soap for Bubba, or going home to bed with your lovely wife Irene.

KINDLE EDITION 2 STARS
One major problem with this Kindle edition, however, is the absolutely abysmal "translation" between the print version and the Kindle version. So I would advise, if you have 3X the money (10 vs 30 bucks), to invest in the printed book in order to avoid the endless lackofspacing betweenmany ofthewords inthe Kindle version. (Amazon should really try not to rush all of their Kindle editions out the door without the slightest proof reading -- even if only done by proofing software. A little QC would go a LONG way).

A very edifying book, to say the least!!

The Kindle version of this book has so many formatting and spelling mistakes it makes the book nearly unreadable. Every paragraph of the book has words jumbled together. Stay away.

If you want to know your rights and travel you have to read this book. You might change your travel plans after you read up on the state(s) you are going to. I don't know how Truckers do it. If you don't travel, but want to know about your state it will tell you. There are some wacky laws out there.
