This review is from: Savas' Defiant Mistress (Harlequin Presents) (Kindle Edition)
Savas' Defiant Mistress by Anne McAllister was an okay, pretty decent Harlequin Presents read. Architect Sebastian Savas is all about his professional life. That is until Neely Robson arrives on the scene. Neely works for the same company that he does, and he is attracted to her, but he thinks that she is sleeping with his boss. To get away from his sisters who are in town for another sister's wedding, Sebastian buys a boat from a friend not knowing that Neely is a tenant living on the boat as well. When Sebastian finds out that Neely is really the estranged daughter of his boss, he decides to pursue her himself. The romance is slow to develop because of the general dislike that they take to each other at the beginning and then the misunderstanding over her father, but the chemistry is there.

4.0 out of 5 stars The series romance strikes back., July 22, 2009
Forget the product description. Neely is the millionaire boss's long-lost love child. And millionaire Sebastian believes he is the boss's chosen successor until he is thrown off his pet-project because the boss wants Neely to work on it.

So Sebastian seethes with professional resentment and personal resentment because he believes the boss he idolizes is keeping company with a woman half his age.

The book is about how Neely falls in love with a guy who is a workaholic just like her dead-beat Dad and how serial womaniser Sebastian falls in love for the first time.

This is a great read. The main couple have quite a few ups and downs in their relationship and by the end of the book the reader can just about believe they will turn their love for each other into a long-lasting marriage with a family of their own.

I would have given it 5 stars but there is a little too much of the series romance craziness in it. (Like how come Sebastian didn't ask what the other tenant of the houseboat was like..)
