As a music therapy major, this was the text book for my introductory course. It defines music therapy well and is a good tool for a music or creative arts therapist or student. If you are looking to simply explore the world of music therapy, I recommend the Mozart Effect book series, which is designed for people in and out of the field and is much easier to read.
