5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book
I read a few posts saying that this guy has absolutely no experience with women, the only way someone would be able to say that is if they knew the man or know something about him, perhaps through...a website maybe?

If you would all direct your attention to http://www.tuckermax.com/index.html you will indeed see he has the experience with women that these...

2.0 out of 5 stars not worth it
While I am a big fan of his website and stories, the stuff in this book is pure crap. Half of "his" lines are old lines I have heard used a dozen times. A couple of them are adaptations of jokes that are from the 2nd grade -- and weren't even funny then. Personally I think this is very out of character for Tucker. A real letdown.

I didn't crack a smile the...

1.0 out of 5 stars A bit of a disappointment, May 23, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Definitive Book of Pick-Up Lines (Paperback)
I actually didn't find this book to be helpful nor amusing. There's just nothing new in it that justifies going out and buying it. It was a waste of my time.

1.0 out of 5 stars SOOOOO CLICHE, June 21, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Definitive Book of Pick-Up Lines (Paperback)
There is nothing different, or special, or even slightly amusing about this book. It's just like 2000 other books out there on the subject of dating that think they're amusing. Don't bother buying this - it was boring, tedious, and dry at best. I should have known it was going to suck as soon as the author said he's still single. .... Maybe you need to get some new pick-up lines!

If you would all direct your attention to http://www.tuckermax.com/index.html you will indeed see he has the experience with women that these people fail to credit him for, and he knows what he is talking about. The website is great for a laugh, as is the book in some cases. Maybe you'll like what you see on the website, maybe you won't. That's up to you. Don't listen to the naysayers, the author knows what he's doing as you can tell by his stories, he starred in an MTV documentary, so you know he is a real person, and real does what he says he does.

3.0 out of 5 stars what this book is for, April 27, 2004
This review is from: The Definitive Book of Pick-Up Lines (Paperback)
this book is for entertainment. it's for laughs. and these "lines" are actually hooks (as someone already posted), things to continue conversation or cause them to laugh. Tucker Max should've went into more detail about the who, when, and how for each line but then it'd be less funny.

the 3 stars is for making SOME people think this book would single-handedly help you get a date.

1.0 out of 5 stars What an idiot, July 21, 2002

I have no doubt that Tucker Max probably wrote all the positive reviews for this book himself. Can't believe that he is still the loser he was in college.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is there a part II ???, November 30, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The Definitive Book of Pick-Up Lines (Paperback)
This book is so funny. I have had this book for about two years now and every time I pick it up to read, it still makes me laugh. I originally gave to my dad for his 50th birthday as a joke, but it has been the best present ever. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a good laugh.

4.0 out of 5 stars very funny!, August 30, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Definitive Book of Pick-Up Lines (Paperback)
I went to college with Tucker and I can only assume that he wrote this book in an attempt to help out his fellow U of C students who think that "Do you have the Stat 220 homework?" is a risque pick-up line. For the most part, the book is amusing, and perhaps even successful for some. I wouldn't take it too seriously, since I've seen Tucker in action.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why the disrespect?, December 2, 2004
This review is from: The Definitive Book of Pick-Up Lines (Paperback)
I have visited Tucker Max's site on numerous occasions, and, by reading his hilarious stories, looking at the pictures of him and his many ex-girlfriends (though they are extremely attractive ex's; I think that dating Miss Vermont should be proof of that), and viewing the links to blogs and other sites he has on his webpage is evidence enough that if Tucker's pick-up lines are not of your taste, then his humor most definitely is. He says in his book himself that they are more like hooks than actual pick-ups. Think of it this way; if you say one of these whilst trying to hook-up with a lady and it results in you getting slapped or worse, then she is either too smart or too dumb. Or you're just too drunk.
