SUPERB!!!,
By CATHY (NEWARK, NJ (USA)) - See all my reviews

I have searched high and low for this CD and I finally found it. They quickly told me that his music is out of print. This CD is the best. I have played it so much that my 14 yr old love it as well. I love Kashif's music. Anyone who is contemplating on getting this CD should not hesitate but go ahead and get it because his CD's are no where to be found in the stores. You will most certainly be pleased with your purchase trust me!!! There are samples of each song. Go and take a listen.

One of the 1980s R&B scene's most important figures.,

Kashif was one of the most prolific and innovative R&B producers/songwriters of the 1980s. He produced and wrote numerous smash hits for the likes of Melba Moore, Evelyn King, Whitney Houston, Kenny G. and George Benson (among others) and is deservedly viewed as one of 1980s R&B's most important figures. This superb collection features the timeless "Are You The Woman", "Baby Don't Break Your Baby's Heart", "Help Yourself To My Love", "Stone Love" and "Love Me All Over" as well as duets with Melba Moore, Dionne Warwick and Meli'sa Morgan. I diodn't give this CD five stars, however, because the title track of his "Send Me Your Love" album was (surprisingly) ommitted.

Kashif is a great producer,

Any 'definitive' collection of Kashif's works should include the music he has produced and written for other artists. Artists such as Melba Moore and Whitney Houston. Kashif has a great style. Kashif has definitely left his signature on 80's R & B, with his own music and the recordings he produced for others.

Excellent artist, musician, songwriter back in the '80s!,
By Preston (nc) - See all my reviews

Kashif made some great solo albums back in the '80s. I like the '83 and '84 hits that are on here, especially Stone Love, Lover Turn Me On, Baby Don't Break My Baby's Heart (my favorite, especially the girls singing on that chorus--don't know if its two or three girls singing, then Kashif does his part), and some others. The '85, '87 and '89 songs are also good here and showed his versatility as an artist. He made some addictive but musically solid songs here. His Love Changes with my girl Me'lisa Morgan was also solid. He later wrote/produced some great songs for Whitney Houston's album, which really took off big and made him loads of royalties! Which brings us back to this album and proves that Kashif was a star and success in his own right! This ultimate collection covers everything by him!

Forget it mates, the man is GOD!,

This is the kinda stuff that any old school lover should have in their collection. The beat, lyrics and superb production in tracks like "I just gotta..", "dancing in the dark" or "reservation for two", is really pure viagra for the soul. And, to end this conversation (and the tears in my eyes), just listen to the superb voices of divas like Dionne Warwick, Melba More and Melissa Morgan. Spectacular! divine! Hey, if you don't get married to this album, maybe you're not ready!

Kashif, one of the best R&B of the 80s,
This review is from: Definitive Collection (Audio CD)
Kashif is probably one of the most unsung R&B singers of the 1980s. He is one of my all-time soul crooners. I believe many will be surprised how strong he is. Kenny G knew a good thing when he saw it; both were involved in a few songs, including "Help Yourself to My Love". If you're interested in true "old school", this is the place to start. Get this one. I am.
