5.0 out of 5 stars Music to Reassure the Spirit
I got hooked on Kitaro in the late 70s, so much that I played the first cassette until the tape broke!
I was looking for a soothing and gentle CD to play at night, during my meditation and right after as I fall asleep. I have many that fit this relaxing category, but I wanted a new one for the new year.
Kitaro's easy sensual rhythms allow me to drift quickly...

3.0 out of 5 stars Kitaro fan overview
I used to really like Kitaro. My tastes have gone more to the electronic lately so this album is getting less and less play. But then I've come to prefer the harder pounding rhythms.

I got hooked on Kitaro in the late 70s, so much that I played the first cassette until the tape broke!

I was looking for a soothing and gentle CD to play at night, during my meditation and right after as I fall asleep. I have many that fit this relaxing category, but I wanted a new one for the new year.

Kitaro's easy sensual rhythms allow me to drift quickly into a safe place that feels like I'm being held in a lovely cradle, rocking imperceptibly, while I fall quietly into a lull.

Isn't this what we're all looking for in this crazy, volatile upside-ended period?

I've found comfort and ease simply listening to the magic that Kitaro brings to his music. It's like dancing fingertips, that's how I envision his hands gliding over the keys in a masterful, knowing way. He knows precisely which sounds to pluck, offering tender moments in place of stressful concerns.

"Floating Lotus"; "Wave of Sand" and "Spirit of Harp" - 3 of the pieces on the CD describe the feeling of flowing with the movement, skimming the water's surface, dangling feet in warm water on a lazy day, absolutely carefree... that's what Kitaro brings out in his music, the reassurance that it's all going to work out.
