If you love The Temptations, you'll love this collection of songs. But I wouldn't call it "Definitive" as it doesn't include songs like "Beauty's Only Skin Deep." And it seemed to me that a couple of the songs ended more abruptly and didn't completely "play out" as I remember they did on vinyl 45. Still, these are great songs and never fail to put me in a good mood.

Oh yes, another greatest hits CD from the Temptations.

Like all the previously released compliations, nearly all their best known songs are present like "My Girl", "Since I Lost My Baby", "Ain't too Proud to Beg", & "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)".

The highlight of this collection has to be the psychedelic soul recordings like "Cloud Nine" & "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" (If you're interested in these type of songs, check out Psychedelic Soul, a double disc collection which covers this musical period).

For me, the last good Temptations song was "Treat Her Like a Lady" (I still remember my mom bringing home the 7'' record more than 20 years ago). All in all, a good CD. Throw in some very colorful linar notes with photos & an essay & you have a collection that's worth getting if you don't own any of the previously released Temptation compilations.

I'M SO HAPPY TO HAVE THIS CD IN MY COLLECTION. IT HAS HITS FROM EVERY DECADE(FROM THE 60'S TO THE 90'S) ON HERE. THE TEMPTATIONS JUST GOT BETTER EVERY TIME AT BAT. I WAS LISTENING TO THIS CD EARLIER TODAY SIPPING MY CRAN-APPLE JUICE AND TRYING TO STEP TO THE SOUNDS. I REALLY ENJOYED MYSELF. I SAID TO MYSELF IT MAKES ME FEEL GOOD TO BE ALIVE. THE ONLY LITTLE GRIPES I HAVE IS THAT I WISH BEAUTY'S ONLY SKIN DEEP, THE GIRL'S ALRIGHT WITH ME AND RUNAWAY CHILD, RUNNING WILD WERE ON HERE. AND I WISH IN THE LINER NOTES IT WOULD HAVE SHOWN THE CHART POSITIONS OF EACH SONG. BUT OTHER THAN THAT, I'M WELL PLEASED. I'M THANKFUL THAT FED-EX DELIVERED MY CD IN A TIMELY FASHION. WHEN I GET HOME LATER, I'M GONNA SIP ME SOME MORE CRAN-APPLE JUICE, LOOK AT THE MUTED TV AND LISTEN TO THIS GREAT CD. TO ALL THE BROTHERS OF THE TEMPTATIONS WHO PASSED ON, MAY THE LORD REST YOUR SOULS. PEACE, LOVE AND R&B!!!

Some of these songs were before my teenage years, but I still enjoy listening to them because they're so great!

WHO DOESN'T LOVE THE TEMPTATIONS. THIS WAS PURCHASED AS A GIFT BUT I KNOW THE TEMPTATIONS ARE ALWAYS GREAT. SO I'M GOING TO SAY YES TO THIS CD.

I suppose true aficionados of the Temptations will not be satisfied with this "Definitive Collection", but I'm just trying to add to a music collection that has a smattering of something for every musical taste. This collection is perfect for that. It contains mostly songs I have heard and recognize, a few I did not. It's not something that I'm going to listen to hundreds of times, but when it randomly comes up on the Amazon Cloud Player, it's not going to make me get up out of my seat to change the music.

The Amazon MP3 store makes it all too easy to impulse buy music just because you happened to hear a something on the radio and wanted to hear it again. I heard "Just My Imagination" one night on the drive home and decided that I wanted to hear it at least enough more times that I could remember all the words, and that's why I bought this.

Frankly, I'd pretty much stopped buying music at all. As a young adult, I got tired of packing and unpacking the record collection every time I moved and as an older one with kids, Records and CDs were simply not a priority. But now, with hard drives large enough to hold every CD I own and the Amazon Cloud Player available to archive it all, I'm suddenly buying music again. It's nice to be able to add to the record collection without adding to the already overloaded shelves of media that are too hard to catalog. With my own music just a click or two away, I've started to enjoy my music collection, and to add to it again.
