Sugar Hill Baby! Sugar Hill.,

This review is from: Definitive Groove: Sugar Hill Records (Audio CD)
This is my first Hip Hop review and its ironic that Iam reviewing the label that started it all(period). Joe and Sylvia Robinson along with Morris Levy and Milton Malden should be praised thoughout the Hip-Hop/Rapper/Producer/C.E.O/D.J/Breakdancer community thoughout. We all know the story by now about the breakthough release of rappers delight by the Sugarhill gang (written by the great GRANDMASTER CAZ)and the quintessential Grandmaster Flash records (cograts on the H.O.F)but to get the Funky 4+1, Sequence,West Street Mob,and some Mo Dee,Sunshine and K (although its not their best tracks) mades this C.D not only a great purchase but also a piece of history. Kick in D.Cs Trouble Funk (the Go Go anthem Hey Fellas)and the 83 banger All Night Long by WaterBed Kevie Kev and you had yourself raps first starter kit.
