An Integral Part of Your ProCinema System

The ProMonitors are a masterpiece of engineering and design virtuosity, timbre-matched and designed to work flawlessly with every other speaker in the ProCinema series. They are beautifully sculptured, ultra-compact, magnetically shielded main or rear channel full-range systems. The cabinets are molded of a Definitive-developed high-density, mineral-filled, non-resonant polymer material called PolyStone. Housed in the totally inert enclosures are a cast-basket 5 1/4" bass/midrange driver and a 1" pure aluminum dome tweeter (the same basic high-end drivers used in Definitive Technology's top-of-the-line bipolar SuperTowers), perfectly blended together with a complex Linkwitz-Riley crossover network. The rear and sides of the enclosures are actually one continuous compound curve which has very specific performance benefits in addition to its obvious styling attributes. This NROCTM (Non Resonance Optimization Curve) is precisely configured, in combination with a non-parallel to and bottom, to minimize both internal reflections and cabinet-wall resonances to achieve purer sound and greater clarity.

Product Description

The matching, magnetically shielded ProCenters utilize similarly styled and engineered cabinets to those of the ProMonitors to which they are preciselytimbre-matched. They incorporate two cast-basket 4 1/2" bass/midrange drivers oriented on either side of a 1" pure aluminum dome tweeter in a D'Appolito con?guration. The tremendous clarity achieved by the high-de?nition drivers in their unique high-performance cabinets results in outstanding reproduction of dialogue as well as all the other information directed into the critically important center channel. High power handling and high efficiency assure the full dynamic range capability necessary for proper lifelike reproduction of all program material. A built-in vertical adjustment device allows precise up and down aiming.

I have been a Definitive Technology fan for years - purchasing my first set of BP-10 towers about 15 years ago. They are still outstanding and way ahead of most other speakers in my opinion. When I came across this posting for a center channel I initially thought it was a fluke - but I ordered one as I needed a new center and within days I had it in hand. Silver in color which matches my flat screen perfectly and the price cannot be beat. In all fairness Def Tech does make better centers, but this is a wonderful speaker and for the price it is not even worth debating. Don't get me wrong I am not comparing this versus thousand dollar plus each fronts but for this price and from this manufacturer - it is a no brainer.

I was reluctant because the price was so low at the time but, I decided to trust the reviews I read and order a speaker. When it arrived we hooked it up and it was just moments before I found myself logging back in to see if I could order a couple more speakers. Definately worth the money.

This is my 3rd center channel. My beloved KEF center channel was 10 times the cost. My Polk Audio was 5 times the cost. But this Definitive Tech center channel is the best value for the money. The clarity/fidelity is astounding. The only thing I'd like to see as an improvement is rubber feet for the front so that it can stay put on glassy surface.
