You would not believe how HUGE this is until you see it in person. It's very heavy and NEVER hold it in the 2 side rails since it would slip.

The sound is just crystal clear and the base is just too much fun. I used a pre-out RCA from my receiver to the clr low and speaker wire to the mid and high. The RCA cable makes a BIG difference to the bass so be sure you do it if you can.

I watch 300 and Gladiator, the voice is just deep and crisp. You could almost feel the breathing and in the Passion of the christ movie, every crack and sound imaginable you can hear it. I set the base to about 60%

If you have a space this simply is the best center and best upgrade you can do. There is just too many sound coming out of the center.

This finally solve my issue with the weak center. I used to constantly adjust the volume since the dialogue it too weak or the LR is just too loud. Now every thing is in perfect harmony.

I'm using HK AVR 347, Klipsch SUB 12 and Mythos 1 for LR.

I have two pairs of aged JBL S412P's. One pair are mains the other I utilize one speaker for my center channel.
For the longest time this "SINGLE SPEAKER" worked for me but I was ready to move up and began the search for a replacement. Read up on the forums and came across the DT line of speakers.
I always look for EOY or DISCON. specials and when I saw the CLR 3000 I decided to give it a go.
The shipping was fast (6 days)
Unpacked and connected.

Excellent clarity (voice and sound effects) when watching movies and when listening as a main for stereo cd's or DVD AUDIO the sound is FANTASTIC!!!!!!
After a few days of listening as a center and a main (It is excellent as a main speaker as well!!!!) I decided to order a pair of the BP7002s.
Amazon only had the RIGHT CHANNEL so I went directly to LISTENUP and they happen to only have the LEFT CHANNEL, so I was in luck.
Ordered the two (LFT/RGHT) and I am all set.
Not too many left of these CLR3000 so I would jump on these b4 they are all gone.

I was investigating the Paradigm, Klipsch, Monitor Audio Gold and Martin Logans when I stumbled across this center channel. They are so articulate that they can even be used for your left and right channels. I didn't do that though. Across the front are two 7001SC towers with built in subs pushing 1500 watts each. Combine that with the center channel and space shuttles can really blast off in your theatre room. Decided to stay with one brand for timbre matching so I used the UIW75 in walls for side surround and the BPZA's in the rear ceiling for rear surrounds. Sounds amazing with movies AND music. I am a classical and jazz nut and the DefTechs give the Paradigm refs a good run for the money. I would recommend this center to everyone who loves good sound. Just make sure you feed it from a quality amp...and a BIG one.

I recently purchase the Definitive Technology C/L/R 3000 to match my Definitive Technology BP10B mains. All of these speaers have the same 6.5" drivers so they are a perfect match. Previously, I had a Kef Reference Series 90 center channel to match my Kef C95 main speakers. The Kef speakers have the Uni-Q drivers which do sound very crisp, but I thought they lacked in bass frequencies. The Definitive Technology are bi-polar and they have a better bass than the Kef speakers (which, to be fair were older, but they only reached down to about 50Hz).

The C/L/R 3000 has a 10" 150 watt powered subwoofer to produce the lower frequencies. It's huge (for a center channel) and heavy (weighs about the same as the BP10B main speakers that I have). It produces a very nice sound - sharp upper frequencies, rich midranges, and a nice deep bass. It has a sensing power switch, so it will turn itself on or off depending if there's an audio signal being sent to it. Definitive Technology designed it so it can also be used as main left and right channel speakers as well.

Some people don't like the bi-polar technology, other (like myself) enjoy the effect. My other Definitive Technology speakers are older - the BP-2 surrounds and the original Powerfield subwoofer. Older, but all of them match.

Definitive Technology also has good customer service; I emailed them inquiring about when the Definitive Technology C/L/R 3000 was going to be discontinued (since they did release the new CS series center channel) and I was told that the have already ceased manufacturing for this speaker. Whatever is left in the warehouses is what's left. The current Definitive Technology CS series center channel have different sized drivers, so they wouldn't be as good of a match with my BP10B mains.

If you've got the BP10B or the other Definitive main speakers with the 6.5" drivers (such as the BP7000SC), this is a perfect match. Get it while you can. :)

I have had this speaker for over 5 years and cannot find a better replacement anywhere near the price. The tweater in my old one blew and I was considering the new model center they just came out with but it actually have smaller mids which I would like to keep to keep my mids matching my towers. I can't say enough about this speaker though. I would recommend sending some good power to it as I have 200w going to it. Once you power it right the movie gets so easy to listen to. There is no strianing to listen anymore.

On top of the speaker performing like a champ the customer service of Def Tech is phenomenal. I have had nothing but good things from them. I usually can't get anything from a manufacturer and deal with the place I bought it from but in this case I was very pleased. They went above and beyond anything I have ever dealt with from any manufacturer and will use thier items for years to come. FYI, I have a 11.1 def tech setup in my basement and a supercube in my living room.
