Great!,

This book contains tons of tips and intervention strategies to assist in working with the "hard to work with" child. Definitely appreciated the great wealth of information and found a way to incorporate the information into my line of work!

This book gives good information and advice about defiant children and the way to handle and help them at home and at school. Good help for parents who are new in the field and good ideas for teachers in their daily work at school. My main reluctance is that I found it very scattered, with little unity and a lot of repetition. I suggest you look for: "Your Defiant Child" and "Your Defiant Teen" by Barkley for a more structured and profound apprach Your Defiant Child: Eight Steps to Better Behavior.

This may be more suited for a teacher who is open to learning how to best deal with the ODD child, and teaching skills to help all of their students. Otherwise, I didn't get that much insight and stratergy from the book. It should have been generalized to all those who may encounter the ODD child, and concepts more readily accessible.
