Deglon’s finger guard is a sturdy, yet comfortable, stainless-steel shield that protects fingers while slicing and dicing. The interior of the shield has a welded ring, which easily adjusts to fit the chef's middle finger. This leaves all other fingers to manipulate the food. Unwieldy, gets in the way,

This is definitely a good concept, but doesn't work out in the real world. I do a lot of cooking and chopping of veggies, so I had injured myself quite a few times and thought this might be the answer. I found it to be fairly unwieldy, so much so that I stopped using it. After that, I took a knife skills class and learned how to chop safely.My recommendation, if you're interested in safety, is to take a class develop a solid technique that keeps fingers and other body parts well out of the way of the blade so there is no chance of cutting yourself, and use that technique consistently!

I chop all kinds of Vegetables all the time and no problem, however, when I chop an Onion sometimes I get the knife in my Index Finger specially towards the root end, of the Onion, and always wanted to find something to protect that Finger! ...The DEGLON Stainless Steel Finger Guard is my answer and as soonest I got my hands ...I mean my Index Finger inside to try it, I started chopping everything to make a vegetable Soup and it didn't take me long to get used to it. I don't give it five stars because it takes a little while to practice and feel comfortable with it, it is a Great Teaching Tool and I am glad I have it for those times when I chop Onions! This does work, but it isn't as adjustable as it should be so doesn't fit snugly. Also, not wide enough to cover all fingers.
