Like any high school reunion, this return to the Degrassi High series is bittersweet. The feature tries to bring closure to the story of the kids who grew up on television in various Degrassi features that aired from 1982-91. So the kids come together for one last cliché-ridden summer before heading their separate ways. There's a love triangle, the geek who finally gets respect, a group of young men obsessed with "doing it," plenty of drinking by these new high school graduates, and a downer of an ending that telegraphs the moral of the story. Despite being painfully predictable, some earnest performances by these young actors make them seem like real high school buddies. If you considered yourself a member of the Degrassi High fan club, you might want to see how the kids turned out. Just be prepared for a feature-length lecture. --Valerie J. Nelson

From the Back Cover

The alumni of the class of 1992 experience a summer full of wild pool parties, hot dates and part-time jobs. But the fun in the sun ends and friendships are tested when the grads get ready to enter the "real world". Joey spends a heated summer in a deceitful love triangle. Caitlin is not ready to fulfill his desire to lose his virginity, but Tessa is! Meanwhile, Snake thinks his summer job as a lifeguard will provide the perfect opportunity for meeting a beautiful girl and "getting laid". Wheels, pursuing his own dream, restores a beat-up car, but his ride to freedom leads him to jail when he causes a fatal accident by drinking and driving, leaving friend Lucy in critical condition. The Degrassi gang is splitting up, but Simon and Alexa's autumn wedding reunites many of the young adults, who realize it's time to move on.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!!!!!, March 17, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Degrassi High - School's Out [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This was the best ending!!! It left me wanting sooooo much more. I loved how real the kids got. They were literaly cursing and telling each other off!!! I can't believe what Joey did to Caitlin and I can't believe Wheels! WOW!!! It was full of surprises and everyones life changes forever in the movie. BRAVO Degrassi! Thank you for staying true to the characters and NEVER disappointing. I wish tv was more like the great writing we had on Degrassi. Any True Degrassi fan will really enjoy this movie. Also I'm sooooooooo very happy that The N channel still plays Degrassi, The New Generation, because a lot of where this movie ended is updated on the new season of the show YIPPEEEE!!! We get to see more of Spike, Snake, Joey, I even saw Wheels, Shane, Liz, the twins, and of course Caitlin. Now if only they could get rid of the new generation kids and get back to the heart and soul of Degrassi, and thats the origional cast!!!! Anyway I'll take what I can get. Its great seeing what has become of everyone!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Must for all Degrassi Fans, March 1, 2000
This review is from: Degrassi High - School's Out [VHS] (VHS Tape)
When I was 14, my favorite show was Degrassi High. Being from the States, I was under the will of my local PBS station as to when it was on. Ten years later, I have a few episodes on tape and enjoy them as much now as I did then. This movie is made different from the series itself, but it a fun to visit the characters one last time. I had a lot of fun watching it, but I was very disapointed in the ending. That's all I'll say.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must See For All Degrassi Fans!!, December 14, 2005

I used to watch Degrassi when I was in like the 6th grade on PBS. I absolutely loved it~ then I forgot about it for many many years until now when I happened to catch it by mistake while flipping channels.
I got hooked once again and was so glad to see that they made this final movie length finale.~ I was shocked to see them cursing and being bad like normal teenagers!! It was such a breath of fresh air. The story line was so well written and real. My faves were always Caitlyn and Joey~ and I was am so happy the movie mostly revolved around them. It would have been nice to see what happened to Melanie, Kathleen, Maya, Arthur, Dwayne (the kid that got AIDS). But I guess they weren't available to be a part of this super last episode.
This movie is definitely a keeper! I am so glad I ordered it~ I hope to show this to my children one day.~
