I purchased the "Sauna Dome FIR FAR Infrared Dry Heat Portable Detox" unit and received it last Saturday (Sept 11th), but was ill most of the week and didn't set it up until yesterday. The instructions were terribly confusing, and what came in the box does not match the images on the Amazon web page for the item.

For instance, in the "additional images" page there are what appears to be two foot pad heating elements in the carbon heating element photo. There was only a single blue fabric covered large heating pad in the box, along with the ceramic heater. Am I indeed missing some parts? If not, what are those two small heating elements in the picture representing? This unit appears to be 100% identical to another FIR sauna listed on Amazon.com, has the same part number (DS-689), and even the controller unit is exactly the same - in the description of the product they also list "foot side super-conductive heating elements plus a floor bed pad" as included. Secondly, from reading the manual, it would appear that the FIR heat comes from the blue heating pad, and the ceramic heater simply helps raise the temperature inside the dome to promote sweating. I am 6' 2" tall with broad shoulders, and my torso almost completely covers the heating pad. How is the FIR emitted from the heating pad supposed to provide "360 degree coverage" if 90% of it is blocked by my body, which essentially prevents the FIR energy from reflecting around inside the dome? I am a thermal engineer with over 20 years of experience in the aerospace field, so I am quite knowledgeable about how heat and energy is transmitted at various wavelengths.

Has anyone else who purchased this product received a separate set of foot heating elements, meaning I'm missing parts, or is the image incorrect?

I bought this sauna from amazon seller "detoxworks". It arrived quickly in one box. It comes with a large blue FIR mat that you lay on and a ceramic heater that screws into the base near your feet. This sauna gets hot fast! I love the comfort of having my head out of the sauna as well as the comfort of just laying down and relaxing my back. I would recommend this sauna highly.

Just received this a few days ago. I was using a sauna at the gym before, but I can already tell this is much more effective. And so convenient! I am trying to help a skin condition and I've already seen improvement. I love that it keeps my eyes and nose out of the heat, and that I can watch TV while doing it.

I used to go to a gym for sauna. I always feel great after sauna, but going to a gym is not convinient so I was considering about build a small sauna room at home. (That will cost more than 10 times than buying this product, and I had trouble deciding where to install it )

This product is like a sauna but best of all I had tried so far. because heat is nicely sealed inside the bag, my nose won't get dry eventhough my face still sweat a lot. And it is foldable so I could do the sauna regularly in any room. I could just fold it and push the whole thing under the bed or into other small space after I am done!

Bought this product a month ago still works very well.. make you sweat very much.. feels nice after you get out of it.

First I would like to agree with the gentlement that gave the product a 2 star... I would rate it slightly higher because the heater does get hot... However my heater doesn't look like the heater in the picture and the instructions were very confusing. The screws that they provide to connect the heater to the bar was very hard to see and line up the holes because of the material they have you put in between the bar and the unit, not to mention the screws were too short in my humble opinon.. It was a nightmare installing the heater. The heater I received was square and looked very basic... I'm still wondering if its really an FIR heater. The heating pad is very short and I dont think this item is suited for a tall man. Im 5ft 5in and found it to be very small, and other then that is no real padding to lay on in the suana which makes it not the most confortable. I don't know... It was a gift from my boyfriend so i'm extremly appreciative but not impressed with the way it was manufracture. I almost feel I could have created this myself. If I would have paid my own money... I probably would have sent it back... It's sort of flimsy,cheaply made and I'm still wondering if its really giving off the infrared effect.

Great sauna. I didn't expect it to get so hot or be so relaxing to lay in. Works better than I thought. I use it everyday and sometimes 2x per day.
