4.0 out of 5 stars good but could have been better
I agree with the other reviewers that there could have been more extras besides the old "Behind the Scars". As for the show, it's really good and any fan should like it. My only complaint is that the cameras didn't focus enough on the guitar players, especially when playing their solos. When Dave Suzuki or Jack Owen is playing some badass solo, I don't want to see a...

2.0 out of 5 stars good concert, but lacks extras
This dvd really feels rushed. The only extra on it is 'behind the scars', which is the same thing from scars of the crucifix. At the very end, the show a message of how the hoffmans left the band just days before this was filmed and jack and tony filled in, learning these songs overnight. All they do in this concert is just stand. Couldnt they have had the new lineup(the...

I agree with the other reviewers that there could have been more extras besides the old "Behind the Scars". As for the show, it's really good and any fan should like it. My only complaint is that the cameras didn't focus enough on the guitar players, especially when playing their solos. When Dave Suzuki or Jack Owen is playing some badass solo, I don't want to see a shot of Glen playing the bass. They also could have done a better job showing Steve blasting away at the drums. Still, the show is worth the price of the dvd.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad..., April 22, 2006

Let me make this as short as possible. For old school Deicide fans (like myself), you shouldnt be dissapointed much except for the guitar solo's that seemed to be changed dramatically due to the line up change. Other than that, its Deicide!!!!

The sound quality is great except Glen's bass is bit too strong during the whole show. The vocals, drums, guitars... all nicely mixed in that "Deicide" way.

As for the extra's... who cares about them... you want a Deicide live show... and thats what your gonna get. The "Behind The Scars" is the same DVD you would have recieved in the "Scars of the Crucifix" cd/dvd set.

I give this 4/5 for two reasons... like mentioned before, when Jack or Dave are slamming out solo's.. the camera seems concentrated on Glen the whole time, and Steven doesnt get much camera action either. The sound gets a 4/5, and the picture quality a 4/5 (taking into account that Deicide isnt the richest band in the world... its way better than any bootleg youll ever come across...)

and now my fav quote from Glen...

Bit tit's, fish and chips... F**kin BRITIAN!!!

I love it....

Deicide dominates-there is no question. This DVD will have you picking your jaw back off the floor when its all said and done. The DVD has very good sound quality which is majorly important to me because I like to crank the sound through my 1000 watt surround system turn off the lights- and you feel like you are right there-except noone is elbowing the side of your head or nose in the pit-punch yourself in the face and you have it all!!! Steve(drummer) will blow your mind with non stop blast beat and double bass pleasure. Jack owen and Ralphy boy(guitars) fit in well and destroy old and new Deicide favorites. Last but not least -Bentons deep growling vocals and bass punishment make this a DVD the whole family will definately enjoy! Even grandma loves Deicide!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Concert thats it!!, March 8, 2006
This review is from: Deicide: When London Burns (DVD)
Im a huge Deicide fan, so when I heard they were going to come out with a dvd I couldn't wait. Then it came out yesturday and I bought it! Let me tell you the show is sick amazing performance by those guys. Reminds me of when I saw them mouths back. Glen is pretty much drunk even before the band starts there set its amazing...lol Anyway, the Behind the Scars is the same exact thing as the DVD thats came with Scars From The Crucifix album. they could have done a much better job with this dvd but Im still a huge fan, but i just cant recommend this to really anyone. Only for The Live Concert! DEICIDE

4.0 out of 5 stars Not perfect, but a good DVD, October 17, 2006
This review is from: Deicide: When London Burns (DVD)
If you're a Deicide fan, you will most probably like this DVD. Most of the set list is what you would expect from a Deicide show (although a few songs are left out: DEAD BY DAWN, Slave to the Cross, Blame It On God, Satan Spawn, etc...). The sound and picture quality are pretty good. My only complaint is that Glen Benton seems to be really drunk during this concert and it seems to hinder his performance. Glen's high pitched screams really dont sound too good here, but the back up singer, Dave Suzuki from Vital Remains, fills in very nicely.

This is a great Live DVD..I am so sick and tired of hearing people complain about no extras. This is a live DVD..What else do you want??..Have of the time the extra footage is band/fans acting like asses, example Slayer's War At The Warfield, please tell me you are not embarassed from that crap..But it's the Extra that everyone need to see, or they complain..

So what you get here is a live DVD..That's it, quit bitching bout extra footage
