Basically, what you have here is a reprint of the brochure for the KDF-Wagen, the predecessor of the Volkswagen. As you can learn by reading the English translation (very artfully integrated into the reprint) the KDF-Wagen was an important part of the Nazi Party's efforts to make everyone dependent upon the State... even for transportation!
After the defeat of the Nazis and the return to a capitalistic economy the Volkswagen became the affordable car for everyone.
