From School Library Journal
Grade 3-6-Each of these titles begins with a timeline setting its subject in its proper geologic period and describing its dinosaur contemporaries. The following double-page spreads describe the world of the Deinonychus and Stegosaurus, their respective habitats, other animals that lived at the time, and their interactions with them. In brief texts with ample full-color illustrations, their physical features, feeding habits, and relatives are explained. Along the way, information is given about how scientists have come to discover facts, formulate speculations, and arrive at conclusions. Final pages focus on a series of question-and-answer "dinofacts." The least useful feature of these books is the fictionalized "dinoventure," in which a professor has set up a virtual-reality game where children enter the dinosaur's world. Serviceable additions for omnivorous dinosaur fans.
