Coffee Table Book,
By Tam Mori "tammori" (Japan and USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Deities and Demons of the Far East (Myths of the World) (Hardcover)
The book is divided into three chapters: India, Japan, and China. It's an easy read with nice pictures. Provides some general information on Oriental dieties, but is not in-depth or accurate enough for serious students. For example, the section on Japan contains a great deal of inaccurate information on Japanese gods and religion. Many of these mistakes are common in books written in English about Japan. (There is very little information on Japanese demons and monsters, and most of that is incorrect.) |
